Expected Results

ER1: ASEAN-SHINE is established and its sustainability is ensured, allowing future


activities and harmonization of standards for other appliances to continue
ER2: The standards for testing methods and evaluation standards related to the
energy performance of ACs are harmonized in ASEAN
ER3: A regional policy roadmap for MEPS is endorsed at the ASEAN level
ER4: National policy roadmaps for increase of MEPS are developed and
adopted in 8 ASEAN countries
ER5: The capacity of testing laboratories on the new test methods and
MEPS is built
ER6: ASEAN domestic AC manufacturers increase their
production/commercialization of higher efficiency ACs
ER7: Consumers in ASEAN are educated on the economic benefits of energy
efficiency and choose to purchase higher efficiency ACs
