Introduction:
The era of globalisation brings in the integration of Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) in the teaching and learning process in
school. Today, ICT is a cross-cutting tool that can improve development
objectives especially in education. In Malaysia, ICT have had a marked effect
on schools, and on teaching-learning process. Therefore, the establishment
of an enabling environment in which ICT can be an important element in the
teaching and learning process.
Rationale:
The rapid growth of ICT has brought about a revolution in learning. In
the classroom, the use of ICT promotes fun learning environment. It is most
encourage a students brain to grow are those that he/she enjoys. If student is
forced to participate in the learning activities, it will not hold his/ her interest to
learn.
Moreover, technological innovation in education has led to the new
methods and gadgets in the teaching and learning process. ICT embraces the
many technologies such as notebooks, Wi-Fi, and SMART boards that enable
students to participate actively in the learning process.

Programme Goals:
A broad range of ICTs promote more opportunities for students to
learning. ICT offers a variety of choices to choose for to promote fun English
language learning in the ELT classroom. The digital SMART Boards are on a
roll taking over the teaching-learning process in primary English as Second
Language (ESL) classrooms. This powerful visual tool is revolutionising the
way English language teachers run their classrooms including how they
engage student interest, demonstrate complex information, assess learning
and prepare students for an increasingly digital world.
Programme Objectives:
This FELL programme aims to:

Enhance the learning of language skills; listening skill, speaking skill,

reading skill, and writing skill by using ICT in ELT classroom.

Trigger the English language teachers creativity in ICT to promote fun

Implementation Details:
1. This FELL programme is one day programme, which starts at 8:00 am
until 5:00 pm.
2. The programme is organised by the English Language Department of
SJK (C) Hwa Nan, Batu Pahat, Johor.
3. Headmaster of SJK (C) Hwa Nan, Mr. Soh Lip Soon welcomed all
English language teachers and introduce the honourable presenter,
Tuan Haji Omar bin Zakaria in the Opening Ceremony.
4. The presenter invited is Tuan Haji Omar bin Zakaria who is the national
trainer of ICT skills programme.
5. The main purpose of this FELL programme is to promote fun and
interesting ways to genuinely integrate ICT with the content of
language skills in ELT classrooms.
6. In the Closing Ceremony, the President of Parent-Teacher Association
of SJK (C) Hwa Nan, Mr. Tan Sheng Han appreciates all English
language teachers for their time and present a souvenir to the
presenter, Tuan Haji Omar bin Zakaria as acknowledgement for
knowledge and skills.
