Experience Description: The manuscript for the publication was presented in September 2010 but
the official expected publication date is March 2012. The
complete title of the article is "Loss of parental role as cause of stress in the neonatal intensive
care unit". Submitted for publication in Bol
Asoc Medica. This publication is based on a research I participated in titled "Evaluation of stress
in parents with babies in the neonatal
intensive care unit" at Hospital Centro Medico in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, where I worked with a
survey given to the parents in a form of
a questionnaire where it asked them about the factors of stress they were experiencing during
the time their babies were in the NICU.

Experience Description: Worked in surveys via telephone calling parents to know about the dates
and doses administered of the vaccine Synagis to their babies,
which prevents the Respiratory Syncitial Virus in babies. With this research, the objective was to
determine the reasons why some of the
babies did not receive their supposed doses of the vaccine, like economic situations, not being
able to find the vaccine, or if the parents
were not informed about the vaccine at the hospital or by the pediatrician.
