Has anyone ever had a code systems in their iOS or Android apps where people can
redeem in-app-purchases? Is it possible in GooglePlay or Amazon? I have an impr
ession that Apple has been testing in-app-purchase-redeem-code with atleast one
EA game (some racing game). Does anyone have any experience on this? Thank you i
n advance!

I have a custom server for one of my games. In the database I can change a switc
h that sends a message to the app to override whether they have the IAP or not.
So it isn't a code system, but it does allow me to give them the IAP via their a
ccount on the server.

Thank you Laura In what kind of way have you used this system? Is it only for a
few "redeems" or for a wider audience (couple of thousands). What information d
o you need from the users? Has Apple commented anything on that system?

If people are having billing problems, or if they have a bug I'll give them the
feature for free. I did one promo offering a feature for free if they tweeted. M
y users login via their email so I just update the database associated with thei
r email. There is no way for Apple to know I have the system in place as it is s
omething I do wholly on my server. A promo code system I think would be noticed
as they would have to type in the promo somewhere within the app.
