Hydrology
Entre Rios provincial borders are marked by the Paran river (West and South) and the Uruguay
rive to the East; and to the North, the Guayquirar. The Parana is the 'Relative of the sea' and it
takes as tributaries to the Guayquirar,Feliciano, the creeks Hernandaras, The conches, jump and
Cove.

The Uruguay, called 'River of birds', receives the Mocoret, Mandisov Chico, the big Mandisov
Grande, the Gualeguaycito, del Ayui, the Yuqueri and el Palmar, Ceibal, the Nanay and the
Gualeguaych, called ' quiet ' or water ' walk slowly ', the most important. The Gualeguay, is the hub
of the central slope and collects water that carries to the Delta. The complex network of rivers and
streams of this province is the richest in the country.

Climate
Due to its geographical situation the temperature in Entre Rios decreases from north to south. As a
consequence, there are two climatic regions: a subtropical without a dry season and another
warm.
The first affects the departments of Federacion, Feliciano, Federal and north of La Paz. Winters are
mild and summers with average temperatures higher than 26C. The annual temperature average is
20 C . Rainfall exceeds 1,000 millimeters annually. North, East and Northwest winds dominates the
area.
The second climatic region, which corresponds to the rest of the territory presents winters which
their average temperature ranges between 7 C and 10 C. , and in summer, between 19 C and
23C. The mean amplitude varies between 10 C and 16C. In this zone, winds of the southern,
southeast, northeast and pamper are present. Precipitation, on average, are less than 1,000 mm
per year.

Economy
The economic activity of the province is sustained principally in the agriculture, the cattle and the
tourism, the mining and the industry.
Agricultural activity: it is characterized by the cultivation of rice, soya, wheat, corn, citrus fruits and
the afforestation of eucalyptus. It is the first national producer of tangerines, oranges and rice and
the second one of grapefruits.

Cattle activity: there is a clear predominance of the bovine and poultry sector. In less quantity the
ovine production.
Industrial activity: it has a strong relation with the agricultural sector, standing out the food
making(preparation) and drinks, flour mills, rice and refrigerating mills. Also there exist industries
related to wood, chemicals, metallurgy and machineries.
The main energy sources of the province are the electricity and the gas. The electrical production is
produced in the Salto Grande. The above mentioned dam was the first binational hydroelectric
complex of Latin America, and it provides with electricity both Argentina and Uruguay

Tourism
Entre Ros it is the fourth most visited destination In Argentina. Its main attractions are the thermal
resorts, rural tourism, sport fishing, tourism adventure and carnivals
The following locations have spas enabled on rivers or streams with services for tourists and the
majority also offers the practice of nautical activities: Concepcion de Uruguay, Colon, San Jose (1st
Beach River of the country certified in quality), Concordia, Federation, Santa Ana, Gualeguaych,
Victoria, diamond, Villa Elisa, Valle Maria and Villa Urquiza. In addition, the province has numerous
sites of historical interest; among which stands the Palacio San Jos, which was the residence of
Justo Jos de Urquiza.
Sport fishing is also practiced in Concordia, Puerto Yeru, Federation, Colon, Paran,
Hernandarias, Pueblo Brugo, Piedras Blancas, La Paz, Santa Elena, victory, diamond, General
Alvear and Villa Paranacito

Flora
The vegetation of the province includes Mountains in the downtown area and the northwest, formed
among other species by the 'andubay.' el algarrobo, the espinillo, the chaar, the lapacho and
timbo. In the Delta of the Paran River are the White Mountains, formed by other tree species, such
as the creole willow, colorado or the coast; the Alamo creole. In Colon and Concordia palm trees
known as yatay grow . The rivers and lagoons have aquatic flora as: Ombues, the little cabbage
water, water hyacinths and achiras.
Fauna
The fauna of Entre Rios is protected naturally from the depredation by the rivers that surround the
province and also by the limits established in order to reduce the hunting and fishing of species.
The birds appear principally in the lakes, rivers and streams, between them there are wading ones,
storks, the choral tutuy, the blue mulberry, the bandurrias, cuervillos and spatulas, as well as also
web-footed, ducks, and swans. Between the most common birds the pirincho, the uruta, cardinals,
kingfisher, bigua and the carpenter could be found There are reptiles like alligators, iguanas and
lizards, and snakes like coral snakes, boas, bells and yarars.
Between the mammals there is carpinchos, ferrets(loners), foxes of the mount, guazunchos,
lauchas, mulitas, shaggy and weasels. There are more than 200 fish species like the surub, the
pat, the gilding and the sardin
