PARISH EVANGELISATION TEAM UPCOMING EVENTS
BIBLE COURSE A Quick Journey Through The Bible This will be the fourth running of this
course in our Parish and will start on Friday, 16th October. Most of the 60 or so people who have
taken this course have benefitted greatly from its content. The course is DVD based with small
group discussion based on questions posed by the DVD. The easy style of the presenter, Jeff
Cavins, is encouraging, informative and entertaining. If you are not sure whether this is for you,
please come to our Presentation Evening on Friday, 25th September to see extracts from the
course and talk to some of our past students. This will be a shared table event. For further
details, please contact Lisa Mennone on 01628 661848 or Bob Bryant on 01628 543650 (or
speak to either of us at the 9.45am Mass each Sunday).
THE GREAT ADVENTURE BIBLE TIMELINE This is from the same stable as the Quick
Journey mentioned above. It is for those who have taken the Quick Journey course and now
require a more in depth study. It is also open to those of you who feel more confident in your
understanding of the Bible and Salvation History. The course is in a similar format to the Quick
Journey but instead of eight weeks, it lasts for 24 weeks. For those unable to attend in the
evenings, we might be able to add a daytime course. The contact numbers are as for the Quick
Journey above. The course will start on Wednesday, 21st October. Registration deadline will be
Wednesday, 7th October.
PARISH RETREAT As a follow up to our day retreat on June 13th, we have arranged a two day
retreat at the Bridgettine Convent in Iver Heath. The structure will be for two separate days on
Saturday and Sunday 24th and 25th October from 10am 4pm each day. For those of you who
wish to, we are also offering a limited number of B&B rooms for the Saturday night on a first
come, first served basis. Those of you who attended the earlier retreat will remember what an
enjoyable experience it was and Fr Simon will again be our spiritual leader. The theme is Did
not our hearts burn within us Lk24;32. For further details, please contact Lisa Mennone on
01628 661848 or Bob Bryant on 01628 543650 (or speak to either of us at the 9.45am Mass
each Sunday).

BAPTISM PREPARATION COURSE The next Baptism Preparation course that Deacon Marek
will be running begins on Wednesday, 2nd September at 6.00pm and will be held in the Sacristy
at Our Lady of Peace. If you wish for your child to be Baptised over the next few months, you will
need to attend the course. This is especially important for first time parents. If you have not
already advised that you will be attending, please contact Yvonne on 01628 605764.
CATHOLIC CERTIFICATE OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES The course is a nationally accredited
course in Catholic theology and its application in religious education in school and parish. It is
valuable for all teachers and an essential requirement for any teacher applying for senior
management positions in Catholic education. It is also recommended for those who may simply
wish to expand their knowledge of their faith. The course will be held in Milton Keynes, an
induction will be held on 5th September. To find out more please pick up a leaflet at the back of
Church or contact Warren Edwards on 01582 723312 ext 6, Email: edwards@nores.org.uk or

at risk. Please contact your MP, urging them to attend the debate and vote against the Bill. You
can send an e-mail to your MP via the Catholic Bishops Conference
