The National Committee indicated that there have been thefts of books and historic
documents in different institutions, such as museums, libraries, churches and others. The
State does not have an inventory of the documentary heritage. ICTs offer a number of
tools to conduct inventories of documents fast and securely way by promoting access to
information from these documents without compromising its preservation.
We propose to implement the UNESCO Records management manual for National
Committee and specialists on the use of ICT for inventory of documentary heritage.
Additionally, we will design a data base for this inventory and the National Committee
will maintain it updated.
The target group is the National Committee of the Memory of the World members and
specialists on preservation of documentary heritage.
