Value addition to students

The polymer department takes more care for improving the quality of
polymer students. Students Research: Polymer faculties induce the polymer
students to submit research proposal every year funded by Tamilnadu State
Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST). Till now, three batches of polymer
students have received the fellowship from TNSCST Scheme.
Higher studies:

Polymer department provides full support for the polymer

students to continue their higher studies in foreign university (thorough MOU

with Monton university, Austria) and reputed institution in India like IIT (through
providing special GATE -competitive exam coaching class).
Design Course: To develop design skill to the students, Department provides
the training in AutoCAD, Pro-E to design the polymer products.
Short Term Training Programme(STTP): Department arrange one week of
short term training programme for polymer students in the field of plastic

at

CIPET, Mysore and in the field of rubber research institute (RRI), Kottayam. It
gives the value addition for polymer students during their placement.
Inplant Training and Industrial Visit: Polymer department supports for
polymer students to undergo inplant training for during their vacation and
arranging industrial visit for various polymer industries to attain the industrial
knowledge.
Educational Visit: To get the knowledge in international affairs in the field of
Polymer industry, Department organize the educational visit for polymer
students to attend the International exhibition in the name of PLASTINDIA held
in New Delhi every once in three year.

Placement Activity: Conducting coaching classes for Aptitude Test, Technical

Quiz, Mock Interview for the final year and pre-final year polymer students to
success in placement interview.
Student Forum: All polymer students are member in the Professional society of
Indian Plastic Institute (IPI)-student Chapter and Indian Society for Technical
Education (ISTE)- student chapter and

Department have Polymer Student

association too which arrange the Industrial resource person guest lecture.
Faculty: The main strength of polymer department is very good faculty profile.
Department have four Doctorate faculties in which two have undergone various
foreign universities for their Post Doctorate Fellowship (PDF).As part of TeachingLearning Process, Six faculty members from polymer department are doing part
time Ph.D in Anna University, Chennai
