Introduction
I have proposed to implement a House Security System, by making this software you will
be able to detect every person entering your house. Basically it can be used for security
purpose and help you monitor people coming in and out of your home; when no one is at
home. It requires the use of a heat detector, which will do the recognising, which in turn
has connection with the handphone, template matching is done by the handphone, if the
template does not match with the original one then send message to your mobile about
unknown entry.
Although many such house securing systems have been implemented and work very well
but the draw back is that it requires the use of expensive devices or equipments to
implement all that and this practice is more common in western countries but with
countries like our i.e. Pakistan which are underdeveloped and considered to be third
world countries who have minimum resources they cant afford to install such kind of
devices for their homes, but with the passage of time countries like ours trends change
and it has been seen that due to the increase number of internet and mobile users
awareness has been built. So this approach can be beneficial to build and implement a
security system which requires the use of inexpensive devices in combination with some
programmed code to handle the functionality.
Objectives of the project
Main objectives of the proposed systems include:
Monitor your house when no one is at home.
To detect unknown person entering your house
Through template matching recognition will be done
Informing your mobile about the action taken
Requires the use of inexpensive devices
Technology to be used

Dot net platform

o C#.net
o Vb.net
Java toolkit

Platform:
Intel Pentium IV with Windows XP Operating System
Hardware Requirement:

Pentium IV
Web cam
Mobile phone

Features and functionality of the proposed system

The proposed system requires the use of simple devices or equipments like a personal
computer, web camera/digital camera (one or two which depends upon the situation) and
last but not least two mobile phones. Basic architecture of the system is that a mobile
phone is attached to the PC via Bluetooth and a camera that does the monitoring i.e.
extracts frames and compares it with the reference frame to detect any change. On
encountering any change it formulates a message a send it to the attached mobile
informing any unknown activity, after receiving the interrupt this attached mobile will
send an SMS to the remote mobile i.e. to the user informing that someone has entered the
house.
Possible areas of application
This project can be used for security purpose which is not only restricted for homes but
can be easily implemented for various organization, offices, grocery shop or general
stores etc.
Limitations and constraints
A main limitation of the system is that the software will not handle the situation if the
electric power supply is turned off, in which case the functionality of the system will fail.
Testing and completion criteria
Once the project is assumed to be complete it can be tested to check its functionality by
making a fake scenario like it actually installed in a real home i.e. a comparison will be
made among the reference frame which is actually the security area we wish to monitor
and the current frame that is extracted from the camera if any change occurs it will
perform its required functionality i.e. real time testing is performed, if all turns out well
then it can be actually implemented for the house or offices etc.
