In Civil Engineering stream, the process starts with Group Discussion (GD) round.
It is followed by oneonone technical interview. The selected students are then

Preparation tactics:
1. Focus on the basic concepts of technical subjects especially Transportation,
Geotechnical Engineering, Surveying, Strength of materials, RCC, concrete
technology, Structural, etc.
You need to be confident during the group discussions and personal
interviews.
2. Thorough technical knowledge and good communication skills pave the way
for the job. Be confident and honest while answering the questions.
3. Reading thoroughly about the company by going through their website is
very helpful in predicting the kind of employee required by the organization.

GLIMPSE OF QUESTIONS ASKED IN


CAMPUS RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR
COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING STREAM
In Computer Science and Engineering stream, the process starts with an aptitude
test (written or online). The second round comprised of a JAM session. It is
followed by oneonone technical interview. The selected students are then
called for the HR round.
Online Test:
a) Type 1:
It included two programming questions and 20 MCQs regarding Database
Systems, Algorithms, Data Structures and Operating Systems.
b) Type 2:
It had 6 sections (Quant, Logical, Verbal, C++, Flowcharts and some other
section) with each section consisting of 15 questions. All the questions
were multiple choice. Total 90 questions to be solved in 90 minutes. There
was sectional cut-off; minimum no of questions had to be answered in each
section.
c) Type 3:
MCQ type Technical + Aptitude + Verbal Test consisting of 15-25 questions
in each section. Total time: 1 hr.
Online MCQ test: Duration of the test was 1 hour, and it had 3 sections:
i. English(basic comprehension, language)
ii. Aptitude(CAT styled to test analytical, reasoning skills)
iii. Technical(generic IT skills like C, data structures, operating system,
networking, etc.). No negative marking.
Written Test:
a) Type 1:
It had 2 sections, 2 hours

Section A: 40 MCQs and 5 Programming.


Section B: 10 True or False with reasoning + 5 Short Answering type
questions on Data Mining and Machine Learning concepts.
b) Type 2:
Section 1: Quantitative Section- High school mathematics
Section 2: Verbal Section
Section 3: Logical
Section 4: Technical - Questions were asked from Database Systems,
Operating Systems, Semiconductor Devices, Algorithm complexity [This
part had the maximum number of questions].
Section 5: Essay writing on a topic (there were 4-5 options)
Technical Questions:
1. Write a program to perform level order traversal. Make appropriate
changes in the written code so that it prints a new line at the end of the
each level.
2. Write a program to check a loop in a singly linked list without using any
extra memory.
3. What is the biggest problem that you have faced and solved during any of
your projects? Is there a better solution for the same? If yes, then why did
you choose this solution over the best one?
4. Candidate was required to give the best solution complexity wise (time and
space) of the problems stated below.
i) Traversal and search through a modified binary tree, as in, the numbers
were arranged in increasing order except for one position.
ii) Related to reversing a linked list with a given condition.
5. Technical questions pertaining to Software Engineering, OS, DBMS,
Networks, Software Engineering, Algorithms, Data Structures and Computer
Architecture were asked.
6. Write a recursive program to reverse a singly linked list.
7. How to access the least element in the stack with O (1) time complexity
there is no Memory limit.
8. What is a dead lock?
9. What is dynamic programming?

10.Problem: A maze problem wherein there is a matrix and the user has to go
from top left corner to the bottom right corner. The user could only move
right or down. Also, assumption was made that each node had a weight
assigned to it and thus, the user had to reach the destination with the least
possible sum of distances.
11.Problem: Sum of distance from one point downhill to the other point after
covering the downhill and uphill of various mountains in random order.
(Given data: base length)
12.Which language do you prefer C, C++, Java, C# or any other?
13.Is it possible to run a program of size 2GB in a 500MB RAM? If yes, how do
we do, and write the code in C# to do the same.
14.Without using a database or server files or any other temporary csv, text
files, etc., how else will you implement the functionalities of a database for

Grammar, pronunciation and overall knowledge were checked.
HR Questions:
1. HR round questions were tricky. It was based on an airplane that wanted to
circle the earth but even with full tank, it could only move half the distance.

3. Practical questions were asked for which students had to write down codes
with improved complexities. Practice coding and improve problem-solving
skills.
4. Have thorough knowledge of the core CS subjects.
5. Prepare the Basics and go through the questions asked frequently in
interviews.
6. Keep practicing everything that you have learnt during your internships.
7. Be calm and relaxed and revise your basics. Being confident and good
communication skills certainly help.

Preparation tactics:
1. Give meaningful and justified answers. Please don't go for the answers on
the Internet (which could be wrong) and some random hypothetical
answers. Just be normal and give natural answers. This is what they want.
And in case you don't know the answer, then please say it clearly that I don't
know. Don't waste his time as well yours.
2. Revise basic communication subjects and electives, mobile communication,
communication networks, satellite communication signal system, DSP,
Wireless communication.
3. Prepare basic concepts of C, operating systems, database management
system, algorithms, etc.
4. A lot of questions were asked from resume. One must know what to talk if
questions were picked from resume.
5. Practice aptitude.
6. Show confidence while talking, good eye-contact, fluent English, well
dressed, clarity of mind.
7. Solve papers on websites like naukri.com and thoroughly prepare for
questions from internships.
8. Be confident and honest while answering the questions. Prepare well for the
written test which is a major component in the evaluation process. Good
communication skills and knowledge about the current affairs are of great
help.
