FromAY20082009onwards,internationalstudentswhochoosetopayalowertuition
fee(andthusreceivehighersubsidy)willhavetotakeupa3yearserviceobligation.
Aspartoftheserviceobligation,theinternationalstudentisrequiredtoworkin
Singaporebasedcompaniesupongraduation.

Singaporebasedcompaniesrefertolocalcompaniesandinternationalcompaniesthat
haveabaseinSingaporewhichisregisteredwiththeAccounting&Corporate
RegulatoryAuthority(ACRA).
Thedurationoftheserviceobligationisfixedat3years,regardlessofthedurationof
studyatsubsidisedrates.
Whoiseligible?
GraduatestudentswhoareapplyingforMOEsubsidisedgraduatedegreeareeligibleto
applyforthescheme.Eligibleapplicantsaretoreceivesubsidyuptothemaximum
candidatureoftheirdegreeprogrammes.
PleaserefertotheTuitionFeetableforMOEsubsidisedgraduatedegreeprogrammes
andtuitionfees.Forthoseunderscholarships,thetermsfortheNanyangPresident's
GraduateScholarship,NTUResearchScholarship,andSingaporeInternationalGraduate
Award(SINGA)arebeingreviewed.Revisedtermsofthescholarshipswillbe
implementedfromtheJanuary2013intakeonwards.
StudentswhohadpreviouslyenjoyedMOEsubsidyinagraduatedegreewillnotbe
eligibleforMOEsubsidyinanothergraduatedegreeofthesameorlowerlevel.

Notification
StudentsmustinformNTUabouttheirintentiontooptfortheserviceobligation.
Theycandosoduringtheonlineadmissionapplicationbyclickingontheservice
obligationoption.Alternatively,theycaninformtheUniversitystaffduring
matriculation.
Studentsarenotrequiredtoprovideaguarantororsigntheserviceobligation
agreementduringtheapplicationormatriculationstage.
OnlineRegistrationwiththeMinistryofEducation(MOE)
OnehastoregisteronlinewithMOEfrom9February16February2015.The
processisasfollows:

ClickontheStudentLoginoption.
Havetwosureties/guarantors(ofanynationality).Theguarantorsmustbeaged
21andabovebutbelow65andmustnotbeanundischargedbankrupt.
Signtheserviceobligationagreementtobeputunderthehighersubsidy(and
thereforepayalowertuitionfee)andservea3yearbondbyworkingina
Singaporeregisteredcompanyupongraduation.
