    toruntheprogram.IfyouareupgradingfrompreviousversionofKanjiTomo,youcanuseSettings>Importsettingstoloadyourold
    configuration.
    Javaisrequiredtoruntheprogram.ItisrecommendedtoinstallJavaJDKinsteadofJRE,itwillincreaserecognitionspeedbyabout25%.
    KanjiTomoisastandaloneprogram,Javabrowserpluginisnotrequiredandcanbedisabled.

    WhenyoufirststartKanjiTomo,nofilehas
    beenopenedandtheprogramisinAutomatic
    OCRmode.Thismeansthatyoucanpointthe
    cursoranywhereonthescreenandthe
    programtriestoidentifytheimageunder
    cursorasJapanesetext.Thisisusefulifyou
    areusingwebbrowserorotherprogramto
    displayimages.Ifyouhavestaticimageson
    yourcomputer,it'sbesttoopenthemdirectly
    withKanjiTomofromthefilemenu.
    Iftheimagehaslargecharactersorcomplex
    background(forexampleintitlepage),it
    mightbenecessarytomanuallymarkthetext.
    Thiscanbedonebyclickanddragwithleft
    mousebuttonoverimage(filemode)orzoom
    frame.
    Whentheprogramidentifiescharacters,they
    aremarkedbyredsquares.OCRResultspanel
    nowshowsalistofmatchingcharactersfor
    eachcharacterimage.Ifthecorrectcharacter
    isnotattopofthelist,youcanselectit
    manually.Iftoomanycharactersareselected,
    clicktheselectedrowtoclearit.Youcanalso
    usehotkeysAlt+WandAlt+Qtoaddor
    removecharactersfromselection.

    WORD_LIST_SAVE_FORMATinconfig.txtfile.
    IfJapanesecharactersarenotdisplayedcorrectlyafteropeningthesavedfile,makesurethatyourtexteditorsupportsUTF8encoding.If
    youareusingWindows7operatingsystem,trytoopenthefilewithNotepadinsteadofWordPad.
