Report Manager Super User is a valid
responsibility
Doesnt have all drill-down permissions that may
be needed

Tricks of the Trade

Update the FSG definitions
Remove all underline formatting from the rowsets
FSG will insert a line (row) with - or _, which will
look messy
Remove that formatting, and let native Excel formatting
take care of it

39

Tricks of the Trade

Only use Report Manager for Management
Reporting once numbers are final
Analysts should continue to submit FSGs through
General Ledger

Content Sets can work

Use Sequential Content Sets
Oracle Support is working on getting parallel
content sets working

40

Tricks of the Trade

Avoid logos
Display nicely in PDF and HTML outputs
Lose proportions and colors in Excel format

41

Tricks of the Trade

Decide on your Report
Repository structure
early
Ledger
Financial Reports (FSG)
Income Statement
Balance Sheet
Trend Analysis

Operations Reports

Module 2

42

Tricks of the Trade

Fed up with running the same report multiple
times for different segment values?
Report Managers Security Workbench allows
you to put security on Value Sets
Run the report once
Users with access to Company 100 will only be
able to see Company 100
