EVENT PREMISE
In times of jaw dropping volatility and uncertainty, one needs to possess certain skill in order
to survive and make a killing. Keeping this in mind we are giving you a platform and a stage to
do the same.

Invest. Trade. Speculate. Announce your arrival as the next George Soros on the streets.
Pips n Profit is the ultimate trading simulation event - the most comprehensive trading
simulation contest you would have ever experienced! Here you shall be given the opportunity
to trade in various equities across major Indian stock markets, on real time quotes.

You shall be given a time period of two weeks and market hours to trade. Step on the
fundamental pedal, get those technical strategies into play, scan the business environment for
related news, measure your risk appetite and make the best out of volatile markets. The
participants shall make use of the online platform provided by ICICI Direct Centre for
Financial Learning to do the same.

EVENT FORMAT

The Event has been divided into two rounds:

The First Round will be an online quiz to test the basic finance knowledge of the participants.
The quiz will be conducted on the dare2compete.com website on 11th October 2015
between 2300 hours and 2400 hours. The results of the quiz will be announced within 24
Hours of the completion of the quiz.
The Second Round will be an online trading game to be held over a period of 10 Trading Days.
Only Top 250 participants from the first round will qualify for the second round of the event.

ELIGIBILITY & REGISTRATION

1. Participation is open to all students pursuing any Bachelors/ Masters/ Post-graduate degrees
across the world.
2. This is an individual event. Only one member per team.
3. The participants must register first register for the event on www.backwatersiimk.com
4. Upon qualifying for the second round of the event participant will be sent a link to the e-mail
address, which the participants submits during registration. This link will take the participant

to a webpage where they have to again register themselves to generate their user ID and
password to be used by the participants to log on to the trading platform.

EVALUATION CRITERIA

The value of the portfolio at the end of the event and compliance with the rules of the game, shall be
used to evaluate the participants.

COMPETITION RULES

1. The event is online and will last for ten trading days, 19th 30th October 2015.
2. Participants should possess a valid college identity card.
3. The Link for creating Login ID and Password will be made available to only those participants
who qualify for the second round.
4. The ICICI Direct trading platform would be browser based and can be used with any browser
and any operating system. For the internet explorer users, the IE version should be 7.0 or
above.
5. Real time market prices will be used.
6. Based on change in portfolio value at the end of each day, a daily winner will be announced.
7. EOD timings for the trading days are listed out separately.
8. Based on the portfolio value at the end of 10 days, final winners will be announced.
9. The exact list of instruments made available for the contest will be sent to the registered
participants on or before 15th October 2015
10. Participation will be governed by the Backwaters14 Terms & Conditions posted on the
website (www.backwatersiimk.com) and may be subject to change at any time without
specific notice. The amended Terms & Conditions will be effective immediately upon being
posted on the website. It is the sole responsibility of the participants to regularly visit the
website and be informed of any changes.
11. The decisions of the organizers of the contest will be final and binding on all the participants.
