GCSO LAW ENFORCEMENT SUMMARY


SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 OCTOBER 4, 2015

On Monday, September 28th, Jerry L. Ganious (26) turned himself in at the Gulf County Sheriffs
Office (GCSO). Ganious had a warrant issued for his arrest. The case originated on Sunday,
September 13th, after the GCSO received a report of a battery victim at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Sgt. Burkett responded and investigated the complaint. The case resulted in Battery charges
filed on Ganious. He was turned over to the staff at the Gulf County Detention Facility (GCDF).
On September 28th, Deputy G. Desrosier responded to the 100 block of Thomas Circle in
Wewahitchka in reference to theft. The complainant reported two five gallon gas tanks for a
boat motor, along with a marine battery, were stolen from a boat. The estimated value of the
items stolen was $190. Deputy Desrosier continues to investigate the case.
On September 28th, the GCSO received a complaint in reference to criminal mischief in the 3200
block of Lake Grove Road in Wewahitchka. The complainant reported hearing a loud crash as he
stood on his front porch and observed a vehicle leave the area. After hearing the crash it was
determined two mailboxes were struck by the vehicle. The estimated total damage was $50.
The vehicle left the scene and has not been located. No description was available.
On September 28th, a 911 call was received at the GCSO from the 200 block of Greenwood
Street in the Lands Landing area. The caller reported that Steven V. Burke (57) was at the
residence knocking on all of the windows. Deputy G. Desrosier responded and contacted Burke
inside the screened porch of the residence. Burke is out on bond with conditions of no alcoholic
beverages and a no contact order with the complainant. He was subsequently arrested for
Disorderly Intoxication and Violation of Bond Release Conditions. Burke was transported to the
GCDF.
On Tuesday, September 29th, Investigator L. Dickey began an investigation into a transaction of a
stolen firearm. The GCSO received a tip which began the investigation. The firearm in question
was determined to be stolen out of Jackson County. The investigation resulted in the arrest of
Christopher A. Williams (18) on Thursday, October 1st, for Dealing in Stolen Property in the 200
block of East Creekview Drive in Stone Mill Creek. Williams was transported to the GCDF.

On September 29th, the GCSO traveled to the Bay County Jail to extradite Derrick L. Jordan (51).
Jordan was arrested in Bay County. He was wanted by the GCSO on a Writ of Bodily
Attachment. Jordan was transported to the GCDF.
On September 29th, Investigator S. Ferrell and Deputy P. Williams conducted a traffic stop on a
vehicle in the area of South Dianna Street and Stone Mill Creek Road. The vehicle failed to obey
a traffic control device. Investigator Ferrell developed reason to believe the driver, Jessica N.
Brock (33), was in possession of illegal narcotics. Deputy J. Hanson and his partner K-9 Marco
arrived and Marco was deployed to conduct an open air sniff around the vehicle. Marco alerted
to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the arrest of Brock
for Possession of Crack Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was transported to
the GCDF.
On September 29th, Deputy M. Layfield responded to the 100 block of Evergreen Drive in the
Lands Landing area after the GCSO received a complaint of a domestic disturbance. At the
conclusion of his investigation, Deputy Layfield arrested Terri L. Real (57) for Battery on a Person
65 Years of Age or Older (Domestic). Real was transported to the GCDF.
On Wednesday, September 30th, Investigator Ferrell and Deputy P. Williams served a warrant in
the 2700 block of State Road (SR) 71 North in Wewahitchka. Champion T. Traylor (34) was
arrested on a warrant for Grand Theft. At the time of his arrest, Traylor was found in possession
of a small baggie with a residual amount of a substance which field tested positive for
Methamphetamine. Traylor was transported to the GCDF on the warrant and also charged with
Possession of Methamphetamine.
On Wednesday, September 30th, Deputy P. Baxley arrested Jennifer A Holt (30) in the 300 block
of Honey Hill Road in Dalkeith. Holt was wanted for Violation of Probation. She was
transported to the GCDF.
On Thursday, October 1st, Lt. T. Wood arrested Steven V. Burke (57) on a warrant for Violation of
Probation. Burke was already in the custody of the GCDF. Burke is on probation for Reckless
Driving and Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test.
On Friday, October 2nd, Deputy J. Hanson was on patrol in the area of SR 71 and the Stone Mill
Creek Road when he observed a vehicle traveling southbound on the shoulder of the roadway.
The stop resulted in the arrest of Brenda J. Neel (25) for Driving While License
Suspended/Revoked (DWLS/R) and No Insurance. She was transported to the GCDF.
On October 2nd, Deputy B. Smith and Sgt. Wililams arrested Willie E. Pelt (33) for Violation of
Probation in the 900 block of West Rutherford Road in Jones Homestead. Pelt is on probation
for filling a prescription without a prescription. He was transported to the GCDF.
On October 2nd, Investigator S. Ferrell and Deputy P. Williams conducted a traffic stop on a
vehicle for an equipment violation. The stop occurred in the 100 block of SR 71 South in
Wewahitchka. Deputy J. Hanson and his partner K-9 Marco arrived and conducted an open air
sniff of the vehicle. Marco alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. The traffic stop
resulted in the arrest of Debra Alderman (29) and Tristan L. Darna (30) for Possession of Meth,

Possession of Less than Twenty Grams of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Alderman and Darna were transported to the GCDF.
