gracing the occasion.
Iqbal has the distinction of being the Vice-President for Andhra
Pradesh Women Cricket Association (1976-1982) and also VicePresident for the Tamil Nadu Women Cricket Association from 1955
to 2003, This gave him not only immense satisfaction but also the
impetus to create a cricket Academy for boys under 12 years during
1985 at Madras I Azam Grounds, Mount Road, Chennai. Mr.Iqbal
went on to establish a coachingcentre, at Saligramam during 1999
which catered to the areas of Vadapalani, Valasaravakkam,

from this Academy.
Not the one to rest on his laurels, on a visit to Muscat in 2014,
Mr.I
qbal, conducted a cricket tournament for Boys under 10
years with the approval of the Oman Cricket Association, Muscat.
On earlier visits to Oman he played an important role to unite Indian
Residents through Sports events.

Iqbal is still showing a lot

of interest in coaching and his
camp - AVM Cricket Academy
Virugambakkam is very popular
in the neighbourhood. He is
highly grateful to Mr.AVM
K.Shanmugam, Secretary of AVM
Rajeswari Educational Trust who
allow him to utilize Avichi School
grounds during the weekends
for the past 15 years. That is not
all, Mr.AVM.K.Shanmugam
prompted Iqbal and his team of
dedicated coaches to conduct
tournaments
on
leading
personalities like M.J.Gopalan,
C.D.Gopinath, A.G.Milka Singh
and Mrs.AVM Rajeswri. Indeed
it is a great gesture from a
gentleman from AVM family.
Iqbal believes in team work and
his colleagues Mr.E.Ajay,
Mr.Sabari, Mr.Suresh, Mr.Uma
Maheswar, Mr.K.Karthikeyan and
others ensured that the
tournaments were conducted
efficiently. Iqbal is interested in

A doctor with class; A woman with dreams
The woman of charismatic nature, Dr.Jayashree had no shortcut

a fable. A woman of style and strength, she has come a long way to fill

mapped out at her childhood days itself. But what made her choose
Ayurveda in a time where it wasnt much popularhas a strong reason
behind it. When she was in her young age, her father had a health
issue which could not be found solution to with Allopathy. At that
time they approached Ayurveda treatment and also found few people
with the same condition take Allopathy treatment. They found a huge
difference in not just the treatment but the after effects. Father of
Dr.Jayashree got completely cured and got back to his routine. They
found that the problem did not arise again which wasnt the case in
Allopathy treatment. This kindled the interest and passion in her which

than 155 years old pioneer in promoting health via ayurvedic medicine and medical practices and M/
sPrime star International Business
Group MNC, USA has joined
hands in establishing Shree Hill
country health ventures with a

Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth

These days with the fast way of life and the
increase in the amount of junk food consumed,
kids end up getting bad teeth and they end up at
the dentists at an early age and too frequently.
Here are some common conditions that bother kids
and in turn their parents.
For instance, Dental caries is the most common
in children as they consume a lot of Carbohydraterich foods such as candy, cookies, soft drinks and
even fruit juices leave deposits on the teeth. Those
deposits bond with bacteria that in your mouth
and form plaque. Dental plaque should be
removed at least twice daily to reduce tooth enamel
exposure to acids. Chocolates, sticky foods like
cream filled cookies and wafers and to top it all
children, fail to gargle after that or even forget to
brush at night. There is one common mistake that
is an important cause of caries involving the milk
teeth, is that most children are bottle fed at night
or for the convenience of the mother, they breast
feed at night before they fall asleep.
Tooth decay is the process that results in tooth
structure loss. It occurs when acids are present in
your mouth that destroys tooth enamel integrity.
It is important to visit your pediatric dentist to
diagnose the cause of tooth decay, whether its
bacterial or dietary or both. Most of the time if
caught early tooth decay can be treated quite
easily without traditional drill and fill methods. If
extensive tooth structure loss has occurred dental
restorations,fillings,crowns,extractions may be
necessary.
Trauma is another common problem that
children face especially in the age of 1-2 half years
as they are very prone to injuries. Most common
type of trauma include Avulsion(complete
displacement
of
the
teeth
from
socket),Intrusion(inward movement of teeth into
the bone), extrusion(outward or slight
displacement). what to do when the tooth is
displaced completely:

1)WASH the teeth in running water to remove

debris, DO not wash hard as it will remove the enamel.2)
Place the tooth gently in milk or salt solution or
commercially available solution(SAVE-A-TOOTH)
solution. 3) Or parents can themselves place the tooth
gently after debriding and VISIT the dentisit
IMMEDIATELY.
Another important issue in kids is Sensitive Teeth.
Your teeth expand and contract in reaction to
changes in temperature. Hot and cold food and
beverages can cause pain or irritation to people with
sensitive teeth. Sensitive teeth may also be a sign of
other problems: tooth decay, worn tooth enamel, or
gum recession. If sensitivity is severe and persistent,
please take your child to the dentist. GUM DISEASE
or gingivitis, can cause gums to bleed easily and
become red and swollen. As the disease progresses
to periodontitis, teeth become loose, may fall out or
need to be removed by a dentist. Gum disease is highly
preventable and can usually be avoided by daily
brushing and flossing.
