The summary view provides a quick health check of the system. In the project explorer on the left hand
side, you can see which call trace logs is imported and are analyzed. On the right hand side, the network
explorer provides network tree view of RNC, sites, cells, etc that was imported in the project.
In the main window, a summary pie chart of calls separated based on the call type is shown on the left
and a summary pie chart based on the reason call ended is shown on the right. For example you can see
69% of all calls are Packet Switched (PS) and 63% of total calls were ended normally.
Summary of issues detected by Xeus is listed in the bottom half of main window under Issues. There you
can see that e.g there are 21 cells with more than 3% blocked calls. The bar chart shows the top 10 cells
which that issue (in this case, more than 3% blocked calls) has occurred.
User can go further into details by selecting appropriate analysis to find route cause and for optimization
purposes. Full details of analysis can be found in Xeus Pro technical Spec. Some examples are highlighted
in this document.
Event Analysis
RF Scatter chart
This graph is basically an RF health check of the system. More RSCP-Ec/No measurements falling in the
lower left corner is an indication of poor RF condition. In this case, the network RF scatter chart shows a
healthy condition.
Further, user can select a particular cell and see the corresponding RF chart for that cell.

This graph shows the signaling loud generated by each smart phone. For fair comparison, user can select
average signaling per user as opposed to total signaling.

Subscriber KPI
In addition to standard reports, The Excel Report Template Builder in Xeus is a space where users can
create or customize report templates. These report templates can be saved or exported out from Xeus
in Excel format. The Excel Reporting feature is available in the Drive Test, Ericsson GPEH & LTE Call
Trace, Huawei PCHR & LTE Call Trace, NSN Megamon and ZTE WCDMA CTS & WCDMA LTE CTS
modules. These modules are shown at the Metric Explorer located on the left-side of the Excel Report
Template Builder.
You can directly drag-and drop an IE from the Metric Explorer unto the Excel Spreadsheet. In this way,
you can customize report according to your preference. Similar as in the Excel environment, you can
also use the Excel Report Template Builder to create graphs and charts.

Xeus Pro supports a wide variety of RF maps generation through its GeoAnalysis feature. GeoAnalysis is an
estimation of the calls or events based on a geographical location. Xeus Pro allows users creating 100mx100m bin
plots for CS and PS traffic plots based on the post-processing of subscribers information. Users can also drill down
to each bin plot to see the active sets that is serving that particular bin and the list of event counts accordingly.
Figure below illustrates an example of bin plot and bin info in Xeus Pro.
23
Xeus Pro offers various ways to investigate call trace data. User can use different selectors for data aggregation:
calls, type of events, TAC, IMSI, areas. For instance the Blocked Call Analysis provides a graphical overview of the
overall status for blocked calls. This analysis feature allows you to further analyze the list of blocked calls according
to Call Type, Cause Type (appears as 'End Cause') and RAB Group (appears as 'RAB') from the Workbench. Users
can further drill down a Blocked Call according to Worst Cell Analysis, Network/Cell Trend, Call Setup Analysis and
Scatter Plot. For each recorded call a full decoding of Layer 3 messages is proposed.
From the Call Summary Workbench (see example in the figure below), users can easily open up the Layer 3
messages for each call which are already arranged in chronological order. Similarly, the users can view the
measurements in plots and their corresponding geo-location on the map. Users can also drill down further to see
the original vendor proprietary system messages for advanced troubleshooting. The list of calls can be further
filtered on a per IMSI basis, and the call made during the specific complaint can be loaded for detailed analysis.
Selection of user defined areas via polygon selection is a roadmap feature.
5) Coverage/Quality
Xeus Pro benefits from a wide range of network/cell based coverage and quality analysis. It is able to decode the
Call Trace files with Geo Analysis and provide information in the form of charts, maps, files, etc. to the end user.
Geo-Analysis is a feature in Xeus Pro which enables user to estimate a location using non-GPS based Traffic
Measurement Recordings. Xeus uses Geo-Analysis to perform geo-location estimation using a combination of
OTDOA multi lateration and relative signal strength. User can visualize different plots, such as RSCP, Ec/No, Pilot
Pollution. Any layer can be exported to different open GIS formats. Some examples are illustrated in the figures
below.
Xeus Pro allows generating Best Server-based maps resulting from the post-processing and analysis of Call Traces.

6) Troubleshooting
(screenshots from Huawei demo data)
Xeus Pro provides strong troubleshooting features. In particular:
Xeus Pro is able to plot the Uplink Interference for a specific cells from its Cell Analysis table. User can
visualize different cell utilization with the selected element and system resources. The chart is able to
save as an image easily. The figure below shows an example of plotting UL Interference together of
Number of Users Assigned to Physical HS Channel.
Xeus Pro allows identifying and analyzing cells having overshooting coverage. Overshooting cells analysis results
may be represented in different ways, either as plots, graphs or tables with all cells and the coverage related
parameters listed.
28
Xeus Pro provides various ways to identify areas affected by coverage loss and to further analyze possible
underlying issues in these areas. Users have the possibility to review all the dropped calls End Cause and End
29
System Cause to further analyze the possible root causes of the drops (e.g. IRAT handover failure, Missing
Neighbor or poor radio environment).
Drill Down to Call Drops End Cause & End System Cause
In addition, Xeus Pro fully supports import and analysis of drive-test data. Smart algorithms are incorporated for
detection of missing neighbors, swapped sectors and overshooting cells in a log-file set. Each detected missing
neighbor will appear as a single record in the Workbench for further analysis. With in-built L3 algorithms,
diagnostics for each Call Event is automatically analyzed and displayed in the Event Diagnostic window. The Drive
Test and Comparison Plot tool is able to plot and compare different network technologies and frequencies. The
Drive Test Formula Tool is also used to edit formulas for Drive Test Statistics, both of which are useful in cluster
optimization and benchmarking.
User able to analyze events happening during a call. Xeus Pro automatically loads all dropped and blocked call
events into the Workbench and Event Diagnostics when a drive-test database is loaded.

7) KPIs
Although Xeus Pro is primarily a network optimization tool and not a KPI tool, it can provide overall KPI overview
of the network as shown below.
31
Having said that, the Statistics feature in Xeus allows users to import cell level KPIs for important correlation of
the network quality. The feature allows users to import statistics files, manage the statistics database, plots and
workbook. The Statistics Plots function allows users to load and display plots on map, remove plots from statistics
plot list in the toolbox and load statistics plots on the GE (Google Earth) map. The function also allows users to
add, edit or delete Statistics Plot Themes, Edit the statistics Theme Explorer and change the range, size and color
of the plots. With the Delta Plot Theme users can also compare the output range of the selected dates.
The Statistics Workbook is used when working with statistics files. It is used to create or customize Cell Trend and
Worst Performance KPI charts, create tables and save each sheet in the workbook in .xml format.
In addition, the Phone Profiling feature of Xeus Pro allows users to easily visualize subscriber KPIs on a per phone
basis, to analyze events and compare terminals based on RF condition or number of events.

Please note that Infovista has a comprehensive special tool for KPIs, called MKP.
