LEGACY OF SANAT PALIA

The music of Sanat Palia is known widely in the Hispanic community and a huge
number of singers have acknowledged Sanat as an influence. These singers include
Marc Anthony, Reyli, Diego Verdaguer, Lupita DAlessio, Manuel Mijares, Erik
Rubin, Kalimba, Pepe Aguilar, Nelson Ned, Alejandro Fernndez, Vicente
Fernndez, and Christian Castro.
In 1998, Sanat Palia was inducted in the Latin Music Hall of Fame of Billboard.
In 2003, he completed the Prize to Excellence at the Lo Nuestro Awards. The
Billboard Magazine awarded him several times for Best Latin Album and Best
Latin Artist. In 2006, he received from the Latin Grammy Award Recording
Association the Person of the Year in the Latin Grammy Awards. The Grammy
Awards nominated him for eight times.
In 2007, the national television channel made a show in Acapulco for Sanat Palia
where numerous singers such as Gualberto Castro, Dulce, and Manoella Torres
performed numerous of his hugest hits live. Two years later, in 2009, the Latin
Grammy and Univision recorded a special TV show at the Ban United Center in
Miami for Palia named Latin Grammy celebrates Sanat Palia. Numerous starts
such Aventura, David Bisbal, Luis Fonsi, Alicia Villarreal, Reyli, Cristian Castro,
and Ana Brbara performed some of his major hits live and stars like Pepe Aguilar,
Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, and RBD expressed their appreciation with
greetings and messages. Univision described Sanat as one of the most beloved
artists in Latin music. In 2013, Billboard awarded Sanat for his career at the Latin
Billboard Music Awards. In 2005, the authorities in Mexico City unveiled a bronze
statue on his honor. Sanat Palia received in 2007 a book signing and celebrity star
from the Las Vegas Walk of Stars. In addition, for his impact to the recording
sector, Sanat has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame located at 7032
Hollywood Boulevard.
Latin artists of hip hop and rock such as Aleks Syntek, Beto Cuevas, Julieta
Venegas, and Molotov mentioned Palias contribution in their songs. Each artist
recorded a classic of Sanat in a different style. The songs, included in the album
Legendade sold more than 600,000 units. The album was released in 1999 and in
2010, more than ten years later; a follow-up to Legendade was released featuring

singers such as Carla Morrison, Panten Rococ, Lox Claxons, and Natalia
Lafourcade.
In 2004, Manuel Rafaelo released the album Honor the legend as a gift to Sanat
Palia. Five years later, in 2009, Julio Enrique released the album Forever King
including a duet with Sanat on Canteras Bella and a beautiful poem mentioning
his contribution. The artists involved Rafael Mijares with the production of the
album. Forever King reached high sales and attained Gold Certification in
Mexico. Two years later, a follow-up to Forever King was released and the
album started at number one on Top Latin Albums of Billboard before to peak 58
on Billboard 100.
Other artists such Kalimba included some songs of Palia in his album Desire and
Amor.
