What are Rosary Beads?

corresponding prayer that is uttered in ordinary and special days in the Roman Catholic
tradition.

Pagan. The rosary beads of the Pagan are unique apart from other religions. It is

variety of sizes and shapes with the addition of dangling charms that represents deities.
Anglican and Episcopal Christian. This faith uses a rosary that is made from glass,
wood or stone. It has four sets of seven beads that are separated into groups coined as the
weeks. In their rosary, the number seven means the seven sacraments of the church and
the seven days of creation. As for the four number, it represents the four seasons of the
year and the four points of the cross.
Eastern Orthodox Catholics. The prayer rope for the Eastern and Orthodox Catholics is
called as chotki or komboskini. It has 33, 50 or 100 knots that ends in a tassel or cross.
Moreover, the Jesus prayer is recited in every knot.
Islam. The prayer recitation for the religion Islam is called as dhikr. In this prayer, pit
makes use of beads called subdah or misbaha. It has 25, 33 or 100 beads in a string.
Buddhist and Hindu traditions. The beads in the Buddhist and Hindu traditions are
called mala. It is commonly made from wood with preference to sandalwood. Moreover, the
mala has 108 beads that represent the 108 human sins that have to be overcome. As for
the cord, it symbolizes the bloodline of Buddha.

Indeed, there are different beads that would cater every ones religion. However, no matter
what the beads names are or composition, they still have the same purpose which is to
keep the devotees mind focused in reciting his faith.
