The Atmospheric Vortex Engine:

The Future
In the present world the global consumption of energy is on its rise, and this ascent
in global energy need
will continue with ever riseing of energy demand. This escalation of energy
requirement saw its peak during trasition from 20 th to 21st century and is envisage
to show its next peak in comming few year.On a global margin about 87% of the
energy that the world consumed came from fossil fuels, a figure thatremarkably
was unchanged from 10 years before ,where as remaining percent energy include
likes of solar, wind, nuclear etc. Also the numberof the thermal power generating
plant is way more than any other generating plants.
In the present world there are various sources of energy that are un-tamed,vortex
energy is one among them.It is the energy responsible for hurricanes, tornadoes
and waterspouts etc.that are a form of upward heat convections. So there has been
number of research in the past to tap this enormous amount of energy which led to
the development of Atmospheric vortex engine(AVE).
The atmospheric vortex engine (AVE) promises to exploit the natural processes
responsible for creating hurricanes, tornadoes, and waterspouts, although on a
much smaller scale. In a conventional thermal power plant the cooling towers are
used to transfer waste heat generated to the atmosphere. During this process there
is mechanical energy produced when heat is carried upward by convection in the
atmosphere. An atmospheric vortex engine (AVE) uses an artificially created
anchored tornado like vortex to capture the mechanical energy produced during
upward heat convection. The vortex is created by admitting warm or humid air
tangentially into the base of a circular wall. The heat source can be solar energy,
warm sea water, warm humid air or waste industrial heat. There is no need for solar
collectors; the heat collector is the earths surface in its natural state. The AVE has
the same thermodynamic basis as the solar chimney except that the physical
chimney is replaced by centrifugal force in a vortex and that the solar collector is
replaced by the earths surface in its unaltered state.
The mechanical energy is produced in peripheral turbogenerators. The AVE has a
large energy production potential and could alleviate global warming by reducing
the quantity of fuel required to meet energy needs. An AVE would increase the
efficiency of a thermal power plant by about 40% reducing its cold source
temperature from the temperature at the bottom of the troposphere to the
temperature of the tropopause. The AVE process could remediate global warming by
lifting heat above greenhouse gases so that the heat can be more easily radiated to
space and also by dcreasing the fuel burn out to meet the human requirements.
