Use the links in the Web Links for this case, your favorite search
engine, and resources in your library to learn more about Android
and Apple as program delivery systems for smart phones. Prepare a
300-word executive summary for Yash that describes each delivery
system you identify and outlines the current or likely near-term
availability of each system for content providers such as PFI.
BlackBerry OS is a proprietary mobile operating system designed specifically for Research in Motion's
(RIM) BlackBerry devices. The BlackBerry OS runs on Blackberry variant phones like the BlackBerry Bold,
Curve, Pearl and Storm series. The BlackBerry OS is designed for smartphone environments and is best
known for its robust support for push Internet email. This push email functionality is carried out through the
dedicated BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES), which has versions for Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino
and Novell Groupwise. Other mobile operating systems like Android, Microsoft Windows Mobile and
Symbian can run on different brands of mobile phones; the BlackBerry OS can run only on BlackBerry
phones. BlackBerry OS is similar to Apples iOS in this regard. Traditionally, BlackBerry applications are
written using Java, particularly the Java Micro Edition (Java ME) platform. However, RIM introduced the
BlackBerry Web development platform in 2010, which makes use of the widget software development kit
(SDK) to create small standalone Web apps made up of HTML, CSS and JavaScript code.Android is a
mobile operating system developed by Google. It is used by several smartphones, such as the Motorola
Droid, the Samsung Galaxy, and Google's own Nexus One.
The Android operating system (OS) is based on the open Linux kernel. Unlike the iPhone OS, Android is
open source, meaning developers can modify and customize the OS for each phone. Therefore, different
Android-based phones may have different graphical user interfaces GUIs even though they use the same
OS. Android phones typically come with several built-in applications and also support third-party programs.
Developers can create programs for Android using the free Android SDK (Software Developer Kit). Android
programs are written in Java and run through Google's "Davlik" virtual machine, which is optimized for
mobile devices. Users can download Android "apps" from the online Android Market. Since several
manufacturers make Android-based phones, it is not always easy to tell if a phone is running the Android
operating system. If you are unsure what operating system a phone uses, you can often find the system
information by selecting "About" in the Settings menu. The name "Android" comes from the term android,
which refers to a robot designed to look and act like a human.

Prepare a report for Yash and the PFI executive team in which you
outline and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each content
delivery system you have identified. Your report should conclude
with a specific recommendation regarding the suitability of each
content delivery system for PFI%u2019s games. This report should
be about 300 words in length.
Blackberry can be used on almost every carrier in the world (over 475 of them). In the US, the iPhone is
available on AT&T (T) only. Blackberry is available in five form factors - small keyboard, large keyboard, no
keyboard, flip phone, and candy-bar. Blackberry has removable and expandable battery. IPhone is fixed.
Blackberry allows programs to multitask. IPhone has limited multitasking. Blackberry can be synchronized
to multiple computers simultaneously, if you have multiple computers.
Android OS has many advantages over other Operating Systems which allows for efficient working of the
devices. Android, a Linux based Operating Systems popularity has been on a steep rise over the past few
years of its market existence. This platform currently has over 600,000 Premium Applications built to meet
user specifications. Perhaps this and other factors add up to the benefits of Android OS when it comes to
application usage Android OS is the latest platform and its share in the market is growing at a rapid pace.
Android devices have got a tremendous response from the users. One of the most important features of
Android is the integration of other Google products and services into the platform. Devices based on
Android OS lets user synchronize the Google account with the device thus letting user an easy access to
Google services like Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Maps and Google Docs etc. Android OS is known for
its ability to run Multiple Apps at the same time. It is a seamless experience running many tasks at the
same time with Android Devices. Android Tablets are among the coolest methods for watching online
videos! Theyre super portable, light and also have a huge Touch screen display making the viewing
experience a pleasure.
