Your Eminence,
I thought it would be proper to copy you on these most important letters addressed to His
Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI and Vatican Ambassador to the U.S. and Apostolic Nuncio,
Archbishop Pietro Sambi, et al, which outlines the actions of four (4) bishops and others, who
had a hand in ruining the life of seminarian Philip Hower, you, sir being the first, and Nashville
Bishop David Choby being the latest to throw Philip Hower away like garbage, in this growing
scandal. In September, 1985, you, as the sponsoring Bishop of Harrisburg, punished Philip and
cut him from your sponsorship of his seminary studies at Josephinum, when, in all truth and
honesty, he reported wrongdoing to you in regard to Father John Allen, and you banished Philip
from the diocese for blowing the whistle. However, it took 17 years later on Friday, April 5,
2002, for your successor, Bishop Nicholas Dattilo, to finally publish the truth of the actions you
covered up of Father John Allen. (See attachment A below in Pope Benedict XVI letter) It is now
time for you to erase this scandal that you created 25 years ago and do everything in your power
to give him back the life he enjoyed before your unforgivable acts, and the wasting of at least
$150,000 spent on preparing Mr. Hower for the priesthood. Your continued silence in this matter
will only confirm the known facts even more for present and future historians.
