Dear Parents/Guardians, The safety and well-being of all students and staff members at Tottenville HS will continue to remain our highest priority. Towards that end, we are informing you about an incident that took place after dismissal on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, during which no one was hurt. On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, after school hours, we received a communication from an unidentified individual that threatened the safety and security of those in our school building. We immediately contacted the New York Police Department. Since this occurred after dismissal, many students and staff were already out of the school building. After NYPD investigated the incident, they informed us that the building was safe. The incident is still under investigation by NYPD. We assure you that every precaution was taken and will continue to be taken to ensure the safety of our students and staff. All regular schedules continue to be in effect. Guidance Counselors and support staff are available, as always, to assist students as needed. We look forward to your continued partnership as we work together to ensure Tottenville HS continues to provide the best and safest learning environment possible for all of its students. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our school at (718) 668-8800. Sincerely yours,
