What is Worship?
The word worship was developed from the two words worthy and ship Worth Ship.
The use of the word indicates some high value to the one so addressed. In relation to
God, it is rendering honor, paying homage to and giving reverence as in Revelation 4: 811. The word worship also means to Save; Minister; to perform acts of worship. The
Greek word for worship is Proskuneo, depicts the illustration to kiss like a dog

himself. This leads to spiritual transformation and ends in spontaneous response to

Gods wishes. For the Christian, worship in not a pacifier for ourselves but a reality
that as we touch God, only then are we qualified to touch or minister to others.
The Call to Worship: The Worship Leader
All Christians are or should be worshippers, but of necessity, God has chosen to endow
individuals to lead in worship and sing unto him continually.
The characteristics of The Office:

God uses willing vessels

God uses vessels that are clean and separated unto Him alone

Worship leading is a ministry to God and a service to the Church

You, the leader must be a worshipper yourself

You, must first minister to God and then to others

True worship is NOT learnt at a seminar, but through daily experiences with God

You must be tested and proven ready

You must be appointed and anointed to operate in the office of Music Minister,
Psalmist or Worship Leader God directed David to appoint the Levites who
should minister unto him.

NB: 1 Chronicles 9:33, 1 Chronicles 16:4, 37 (on duty day and night)

The aim of the worship leader is to bring Gods people into the very presence of God and
leave them there.

conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

upright.
Is 61:3 To grant to those that mourn in Zion, giving them a garland instead of ashes, the

A strategy for Spiritual Warfare
The war that we engage in is a spiritual war. This war is against the devil and his demons.
Its not against Human beings. (2 Corinthians 10: 3-4)Therefore we are to use spiritual
weapons, for God has equipped his warriors (the saints) with weapons and not a or
the weapon.
How is this weapon of worship used?

To establish strength of the believer The joy of your strength Nehemiah 8:2
To release a greater aura of His presence He takes his portion as LORD!
To Clothe the mourning and weary warrior in battle Isaiah 61:34; Psalm 30:11
To execute divine judgment against the enemy Psalm 149: 5-9; Psalm 98
To confuse and set an ambush against the enemy 2 Chronicles 20:21-23
To rejoice in victory over the enemy 2 Chronicles 20:21-23
To pull down strongholds or walls the enemy has set up Joshua 6:3-5

Revelation 1:13, 15 and 16 shows the ultimate warrior Jesus Christ in the middle of the
church and having a voice like the Sound of Many Waters. Also, from His mouth a two
edge sword protrudes Revelation 19:-8; 15. This is what happens when there is true
worship the voice of the Lord and the voice of a great multitude of redeemed souls
worshipping are synonymous. This combined with the sword of the Lord executes the
judgment of the Lord against his enemies.
