If inhaled:
If difficulties occur after dust has been inhaled, remove to fresh air and seek medical attention.
On skin contact:
Immediately wash thoroughly with plenty of water, apply sterile dressings, consult a skin specialist.
On contact with eyes:
Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open,
consult an eye specialist.
On ingestion:
Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, induce vomiting, seek medical attention.
Note to physician:
Treatment: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific
antidote, administer corticosteroid dose aerosol to prevent pulmonary odema.

5. Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media:
water, dry extinguishing media, foam
Specific hazards:
harmful vapours
Evolution of fumes/fog. The substances/groups of substances mentioned can be released in case of
fire.
Special protective equipment:
Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.
Further information:
The degree of risk is governed by the burning substance and the fire conditions. Contaminated
extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with official regulations.

6. Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:
Use personal protective clothing.
Environmental precautions:
Contain contaminated water/firefighting water. Do not discharge into drains/surface
waters/groundwater.
Methods for cleaning up or taking up:
For large amounts: Pump off product.
For residues: Pick up with suitable absorbent material. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance
with regulations.

7. Handling and storage

Handling
Avoid aerosol formation.
Protection against fire and explosion:
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Storage
Segregate from strong acids. Segregate from strong bases. Segregate from heavy-metal salts.
Segregate from strong oxidizing agents.
Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed and dry; store in a cool
place.

8. Exposure controls and personal protection

Components with workplace control parameters
50-00-0: formaldehyde
67-56-1: methanol
107-19-7: prop-2-yn-1-ol

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:
Suitable respiratory protection for lower concentrations or short-term effect: Particle filter EN 143
Type P3 (high efficiency (solid and liquid particles of toxic and very toxic substances)).
Hand protection:
Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)
Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended: Protective index 6,
corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374):
nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness
Supplementary note: The specifications are based on own tests, literature data and information of
glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions
(e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in
practice may be much shorter than the permeation time determined in accordance with EN 374.
Manufacturer's directions for use should be observed because of great diversity of types.
Eye protection:
Tightly fitting safety goggles (cage goggles) (EN 166) and face shield.
Body protection:
Body protection must be chosen based on level of activity and exposure., acid- resp. lye-proof apron,
e.g. of rubber (according DIN-EN 467), protection boots, e.g. of rubber (according to DIN-EN 346),
acid-proof chemical protection suit (according to DIN-EN 467)

Further information:
Information on: formaldehyde
Limited evidence of a carcinogenic effect.
After lifelong inhalation exposure to concentrations that were severely damaging to the nasal
epithelium, nasal tumors were induced in rats; in other species these findings were not found or were
considerably less pronounced.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified formaldehyde as a Group 1
(known) human carcinogen based on epidemiological evidence linking formaldehyde exposure to
occurrence of nasopharyngeal cancer.
Current regulatory information is provided in this MSDS.
No adverse health effects are anticipated if recommended personal protective equipment and
industrial hygiene practices are used.
