The accelerator is based on a unique model,
which was developed and is supported by
notable figures in the hi-tech and startup
industry. The core of this model is the adoption
of Haredi innovations by prominent successful
secular startups .The program connects Haredi
entrepreneurs to the hi-tech and startup
ecosystem offers them apprenticeship in leading
startup companies and provides supervision by
senior experts. It gives access to knowledge and
tools and hence promotes the development of
Haredi hi-tech enterprises.

The hi-tech industry is the jewel in the crown

of the Israeli economy. Its rapid growth has
created a continuous demand for talented
entrepreneurs and engineers. This everexpanding job market serves the critical need
for many in the Haredi community as a viable
employment opportunity to earn a respectable
wage. Employment of Haredim in hi-tech
companies promotes their integration in both the
Israeli economy and society and brings together
Haredi and secular sectors. It is a win-win
approach to cultivating a healthier and stronger
society on a whole.
KamaTech was founded by Zika Abzuk, a
business development senior manager at
Cisco Israel and Moshe Friedman, a Haredi
entrepreneur and with the assistance of Dr. Yossi
Vardi.
A coalition of 40 of the largest hi-tech
companies operating in Israel joined together
to assist KamaTech in achieving this goal.
Companies such as Cisco, Google, Microsoft,
IBM, Citibank, Variant and others have joined
efforts to encourage the integration of Haredi
men and women in significant positions in their
companies.

In addition, KamaTech brought together

venture capital funds and investors, including
Pitango Venture Capital, Vintage Venture
Partners, Canaan Partners and others along
with a network of 60 mentors of senior hi-tech
professionals, successful entrepreneurs, investors
and senior managers. This prestigious and
accomplished group assists Haredi entrepreneurs
and supports them in various ways.
To date, more than 3500 00 Haredi hi-tech
professionals have approached KamaTech for
assistance in finding a job. Hundreds have
been hired by leading hi-tech companies
thanks to KamaTechs training, workshops, and
professional placement services. Over 1,000
Haredi entrepreneurs have participated in
workshops, lectures, events and conferences
organized by KamaTech.

Each cycle of the KamaTech accelerator
program ran for 4 months, During this time,
participants received:
A grant award of $5,250 ;
Work space on the premises of the adopting
start-ups;
Legal counsel and accounting services with
senior level associates;
Mentoring by senior hi-tech
professionals;Assistance in business
development, technological development,
and marketing;
Programming services in cooperation with
the Lustig Campus for Haredi women;
Opportunities for presenting their start-ups
to top local investors; and
Participation in demo days in New York
and London where they meet investors and
Jewish leaders in finance and business.
An astounding 224 applications were received
from Haredi entrepreneurs. A board of eight
judges, led by investor Izhar Shay, selected six
start-ups who were deemed to have the highest
potential of success in the accelerator.

The Kemach Foundation, a grant making

body, was established In 2007 by Mr. Leo No.
Its goal is to increase the levels of Haredim in
the Israeli workforce. Kemach accomplishes its
objectives by individually addressing financial
and academic challenges and facilitating job
placement to confront critical issues of social
mobility, equal access to higher education and
workforce participation. The definitive catalyst
for its creation was to stimulate government
funding for the long term with interim
philanthropic investments that will significantly
scale the number of Haredi individuals in
employment, as to have the greatest impact.
The vision for Kemach was borne out of an
acute understanding of the micro and macro
needs of the Haredi community in Israel and
its juxtaposition within Israeli society. Kemach
provides academic and vocational university
scholarships within a sophisticated matrix of job
readiness, placement and personal/professional
development. Kemachs multi-tiered solution
addresses individual penury and capabilities
as well as encouraging a generation of new
employment positions commensurate with the
needs of the Israeli job market.

Kemach works in partnership and a matched

fund scheme with government and other
agencies, to advance the provision of generous
study and training scholarships, support for new
employment initiatives, in-depth aptitude career
testing, personal counseling and job placement.
Its professionalism, specializing in the nuances
and sensitivities of the Haredi community,
have provided Kemach with an unparalleled
reputation as the focal point for every Haredi
individual looking for the support and training
required to join the Israeli workforce.
Since its inception, over 26,000 Haredim have
approached Kemach. More than 93% of our
graduates are in gainful employment with 83%
on track for career advancement and increased
pay.
Currently there are 7,200 students enrolled in
the scheme, with a projected intake of 3,000
applicants who have met the criteria for a
scholarship in September 2015. To meet the
enormity of potential, Kemach operates a $26m
budget annually with 56% matched by the Israeli
government.

The new marketplace will also continue to be a

Our solution allows database administrators
