The Tru-Rainbow company produces a variety of paint products for both


commercial and private use. The demand for paint is highly seasonal, peaking in the third
quarter. Current inventory is 250000 gallons and ending inventory should be 300000
gallons.
Tru-Rainbows manufacturing manger wants to determine the best aggregate plan by
using the following demand requirements and capacity plan. Demands and capacities are
expressed in thousands of gallons. The manger knows that the regular-time cost is Rs.1
per unit, overtime cost is Rs.1.50 per unit, subcontracting cost is Rs.1.90 per unit, and
inventory holding cost is Rs.0.30 per gallon per quarter.
