“Bits and Pieces of Info to Make Life on the Ranch Easier to Manage”
What’s Happening Around Town
A bold declaration of God’s logic and purpose in dying in our
place is made in Romans 8:32, which says, “He who did not
spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also
with him graciously give us all things?” God did the unthinkable
by giving up His own Son to take the wrath and punishment we
deserve. Not only does He graciously grant salvation from His
hand, He also gives us “all things good” for our growth and His
glory. This week, at times when the “all things good” seemed less
than desirable, God faithfully reminded us of His work on our
behalf and His desire to bless obedience!
Therefore, this week, we worked hard at learning and growing
in various areas. In phonics, we did quite a bit of review of the
special sounds we have learned so far. I encourage you to help your
child find and circle special sounds in their reading books so they will
be able to read more smoothly by chunking sounds together. Then, in
math, we began a unit on measurement and focused on a tool (ruler)
used to measure length and height as well as the units of measurement
(inches) on the tool. We have also been practicing telling time to
the hour, half-hour, and quarter past the hour, so please look for
opportunities to discuss the parts of the clock as well as what time the
hands tell us it is at different times throughout the day! As we
learned about the final days of Christ’s life on earth, we studied the
country of Israel! God beautifully combined all our studies, and
He blessed us as we worked to bring glory to Him!
Answers to Questions on the Ranch
A: Yes, kindergarten students will be taking the ITBS test
during the week of April 12 – 16. The tests allow us to see the
progress your child is making as well as how well we are doing as a
school! We will take one test each day, and there will be more
information and details to come. I will do my best to make the
week as enjoyable and stress-free as possible for the students. I
trust they will finish the week remembering some special activities we
were able to do that were a nice change of pace?
Q:
A: Yes, during the month of April, we will be doing a unit on
the beach and ocean! Our study will include beach and ocean
animals, fish, and birds, water safety, shells, and beach activities.
As always, feel free to send in pictures or mementos of your visit to
the beach and ocean! We are also beginning a new unit on measure-
ment in math as we enter this new month! We will talk about
measuring tools, units of measurement, and comparing size using
words such as “longer than” and “shorter than.” I encourage you
to talk to your child as the month goes on, and look for opportunities
to extend their knowledge and give them practice at home!

Spotlighting Students and Volunteers
We want to express our gratitude to the Hohensee family for
bringing snacks this week! The snack tied in with our Bible
story each day, and we were able to review what we learned while
enjoying the munchies! The creativity was awesome and greatly

A Bible Course Map for the Upcoming Week
Monday, April 5 - (Breakfast on the Shore with Jesus -
John 21) The disciples head out to fish early one morning but are
unable to catch any fish. Eventually, they decide to return to shore.
As they approach the shore, they see Jesus standing there. He
commands them to put their nets in on the other side of the boat, and
when they do, they catch many fish. Peter was so excited, he jumped
out of the boat and swam to shore. Jesus then eats breakfast with
His disciples on the seashore. Jesus confirmed His resurrection
with a third appearance and breakfast with His friends!
Tuesday, April 6 - Review of the previous lesson.
Wednesday, April 7 - The Ascension (Acts 1:1-8) Jesus
speaks on the Mount of Olives and commands His disciples to go
and spread the good news! He reminds them to tell others it is only
by trusting in His work on the cross alone which saves. Then,
when He finishes speaking, He ascends into heaven. Angels tell
the people He will return one day in the same way He left them!
Friday, April 9 - Unit wrap-up of study on the final days of
Christ’s earthly ministry.
