    April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect and encourage individuals and communities to support children and families. Nationally, over 800,000 children are determined to be victims of abuse and neglect. In the District alone, over 3,900 children were the victims of child abuse and neglect during fiscal year 2009. Throughout the month of April, CFSA will work with our sister agencies and partners in the community to raise awareness and sponsor events that provide you with the tools and resources you need to prevent child abuse and neglect. CFSA’s official calendar of events is attached along with some helpful suggestions for Child Abuse Prevention Month activities.
