Objectives:

Create a variety of logos to fit a company or personal


image.
Use the basic tools of Illustrator.

Process:

First, I took the hont I wanted to create a rustic-ish


looking design. Using the pen tool, I created the needle
and overlapping thread around the H. Using the eclipse
tool, I created the button. Finally, I added the mathching
font of the logo to they typeface.

Objectives:

Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image.


Design consistent layouts for a business card and
letterhead.
Use the basic tools of Illustrator & InDesign.

Process:

Using the rectangle tool, I created the light pink boxes


on the upper and lower parts of the letterhead. Then, I
used the pen tool to create the ballet shoes, and added
part of a circle around it using the elipse tool. Using the
type on a path tool, I added the words inside the cirlce,
and using a script font, made an LB. Next, I used the
pen tool to create the chevron, and finally adding the
script fonts witht eh sans serif to create the wording.
Lastly, I added the ballerina as a watermark.

Using the same technique as the letterhead, I copied


and pasted the designs into the rectangles. To create an
alligned flow, I aligned the text to the right instead of to
the left. I made the watermark a little darker, and kept
the logo on the back of the card.

Description:

logo.

Size and optimize an original logo as a .png for a web


page.
Write content to describe the process of creating your
logo and how it appeals to a target audience.
Design a web page using HTML to display a logo and
content.
Acquire a working knowledge of HTML and basic
understanding of CSS.
Identify hex colors for web design.
Compress multiple files in a zipped folder to attach as
one file.

Process:

I created the HTML text using an application called Text


Wrangler. I aligned the logo to the right, to create the
flow of words around the logo. Using element tags, I
made the bullited list, and the working hyperlink on the
bottom.

Event Ad
Description:

A color full-bleed event ad to promote a fundraiser using


only Microsoft Word and a scanner.

Objectives:

Find, scan and import a high-quality image.


Create a full-bleed design
Use text boxes for layout in Word.
Insert and edit images in Word.

Process:

For this project, I scanned an image of one of my closest


friends. Then, in photoshop I expanded the image to
the correct size. In Word, I added the text and added
opactity and drop shadows to bring out the title. Aligning
the text to the right, I made the event time and location. I
wanted this to look similar to a magazine Ad.

Objectives:

Learn basic photography skills.


Use a digital camera to take a quality image, then
download it.
Size and crop the image.
Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue and saturation
levels.
Use a selection tool to isolate a portion of the image.
Desaturate the selected portion of the image.
Use a filter or colorize a portion of the image.

Process:

Using a camera, I took this picture outside my apartment


complex. Then in photoshop, I added filters and lighting
adjustments to make the image the way I wanted it.
Using my favorite script font, I added the text with
contrasting serif font. Using the pen tool, I created
a crown. Then finally, I added soft textures in the
background using the brush tool.

Objectives:

Apply the design principles and use appropriate


typography.
Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier
layout.
Create a project folder with image, logo and InDesign
document to keep links intact.

Process:

Using InDesign, I added the my titel font to create a


feel of powerfulness. Then, I added the dancer in the
background and created the swils around him using the
pen tool in Photoshop. Next, I added the serif text to
contrast the bold title font. Adding the line to separate
the subtitle from the event, I tied in the title font again
with the time and location. Finally, I added the BYUIdaho logo.

Process:

In this project, I took an image from a background


texture website, and added the floral print to the
backgrouns of the book. Uaing teh text tool, I added my
favorite quote that reminds me to be happy. Using my
pwn personal photos and one of Christ, I inserted and
blended photos of things that make me happy and that
remind me to keep going throughout the day.
