PROCEDURE FOR WORKING AT

WALKABLE FALSE CEILING

1.0 PURPOSE
To describe the procedure for working at walkable false ceiling.
2.0 SCOPE
Execution on working at Walkable False ceiling
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY
It is the responsibility of the Lead Mechanical Engineer to ensure this procedure is
followed.
4.0 PROCEDURE
4.1 EXECUTION:

Identify the Project under which the work is being performed.


Identify the System ID and applicable work package for the installation
record.
Confirm that all the works at the walkable ceiling should contain safe
work procedure, ID card for working in walkable ceiling, permit to work in
walkable false ceiling, floor protection & etc.
Contractors has to prepare the name list & no of persons going to work
at the walkable ceiling on that particular day to execute the job &
enclose with drawing on which working area.
Confirm that all the PTW must be endorsed (approved) by JLL EHS.
Confirm that all the Clean room protocol must be followed as per the
Clean room protocol.
Working at height according to PTW.
Attachment of workers & number of workers (with walkable ceiling pass).
Proper Access to walkable false ceiling.
18 mm thickness plywood to protect the ceiling opening.
Proper lighting by individual contractor.
Full time safety coverage by contractor safety on walkable ceiling during
work ongoing progress.
Safe Load chart for the ceiling capacity.

PROCEDURE FOR WORKING AT


WALKABLE FALSE CEILING

Record book to be updated by contractor safety on hourly basis to


indicate numbers of contractors.
Every 2 hours inspection by JLL EHS.
To prevent accident or incident while working on walkable ceiling.
To prevent falling object issue while stacking material or arranging at
Walkable Ceiling.
To ensure work carry out safely.
Any furthered damages to the ceiling panels, all cost for dismantling and
installation cost of new panel will be under contractors scope.

4.2 PPE REQUIREMENT:

Hard Hat, Glove, Full Body Harness and Safety glasses are mandatory.
Task Specific PPE shall be utilized as required by task.
Fall Protection where required.
Knee pads Optional.

4.3 SAFETY PROCEDURE:

All workers shall undergo training on working at walkable ceiling.


Tools shall secure properly at height for preventing falling objects.
Material Stacking area shall place double layer of 18 mm plywood.
Any Opening on the walkable ceiling shall install with netting barricade.
Always remember to walk on the blue tape stick to the plywood.
Opening point shall install with toe board to prevent objects falling down.
Placing of relevant signs to ensure understanding to workers.
To Anchor body harness to nearby Solid Structure.
Proper Lighting by individual Contractors.
Work at Height Permit.
Proper Access to the Walkable Ceiling.
