ASTRAL PROJECTION and QUANTUM NON-LOCAL

A Summary of Natural Process and Practice

WHAT IS IT?

Essentially, astral travel is the process of leaving our physical organism and entering a second body, usually referred
to as the astral body, which many people sadly do not realize they even posses. When we sleep at night, the astral
body moves slightly out-of-coincidence to our physical organism. Usually we are fast asleep and throughout a lifetime
one might remain completely unaware of this natural, subtle process.

The body and brain enter multiple different stages during the sleep process. In order for a conscious astral projection
to take place, the practitioner needs to develop a way to keep the consciousness aware without slipping into a dream.
Better said, you have to remain awake during all the brain's different phases. It is usually only in this borderland
between waking consciousness and dreaming that the actual separation begins to take place. It is also referred to as the
"twilight" stage of being neither awake nor asleep but sitting-on-the-fence between sort to speak.

At a certain point, after the body has relaxed enough, the brain sends a signal that chemically paralyzes the body. If
the person is awake during this process, they become susceptible to what has been commonly diagnosed as Awareness
Of Sleep Paralysis. The separation of the astral and physical body soon follows but in this particular state it can
become very uncomfortable because of the feeling of loss of control and unfamiliarity. It can also be scary because the
mind hallucinates hypnogogic images, usually vague anthropomorphic figures accompanied by strange noises, which
the beginner mistakes for an objective circumstance; However, reality has proven the process natural and completely
safe. In fact, if your body didn't paralyze itself you would get hurt by acting out your dreams. Some people suffer
somnambulism, which means they “sleepwalk” because their body either confuses the paralysis signal or the brain
never released it to begin with. In most cases people suffer this as children early on in life, but the problem later
corrects itself as the individual gets older.

So naturally then some of the most common symptoms involved with astral projection include these hypnogogic (or
hypnopompic depending on the time of day/night) hallucinations followed by strange noises and eventually something
popularly called "the vibrations" as your body begins to turn off and enter sleep mode. There are many theories as to
what these vibrations really are and although they are most likely biofeedback from the central nervous system, they
seem to assume a variety of different forms between different individuals ranging from electric sensations to that of
waves on water. Irregardless, they soon cease and projection usually immediately follows.

Sometimes the person will black out at this point where the naked consciousness switches between bodies. In other
cases the person will begin to see through their closed eyelids indicating the consciousness has entered into the astral
body before completely removing itself from the physical. In some instances there is reported bi-location - meaning
that the consciousness is aware of the impressions being received from both astral body and physical body. The astral
body can even be quite a bit away from the physical but the person sees both locations as if they were there. It is
popular to call this "remote viewing" however I don't necessarily think this is all there is to that subject as it has
proven itself a bit more involved in practice.

There is no reason for alarm during the onset of astral projection. The most common fear is bodily death/death of the
physical organism, but this is not possible as there always remains a link between the physical body and the energy
body/astral body. The person can always return to the physical body instantly and in most cases this is even unwanted
because many wish to remain in the astral and explore. Thus it is common practice to get as far away from the
physical body as possible upon successful exit as to not provoke an unwanted return. I have personally experienced
the backwards sucking motion of an unwanted return and you are put right back into the physical completely
unharmed, although somewhat upset about not being able to stay in the superior state of being in the astral. It is
suggested that grabbing hold of an object helps to maintain focus as a means of staying in the astral environment
longer.

HISTORY.
Throughout Humanity's past there are numerous references given to this practice of projecting the astral somatic
vehicle although the actual words "astral projection" weren't coined until the last century.

Some of the popular recent attempts to methodically and scientifically explore this phenomena in the past century
have been documented in the experiments of Sylvan Muldoon and Heward Carrington. Robert Monroe started the
Monroe Institute in which he pioneered what he called "Quantum non-local" (descriptive term for what most people
call astral projection), not to mention dreams and measuring frequencies of different human brain cycles.
Many more authors can be found documenting the subject, however in less scientific approaches but to each their
own. Robert Bruce and William Bulhman are to name a couple.

It has been the practice to institute astral travel into the curriculum of many mystery schools as well as has been the
focus of the teachings and writing available from modern individuals contributing to the occult sciences and magickal
studies.

IN OCCULT TERMS

Any occult student will undoubtedly pursue this practice when the choice eventually presents itself, should they be
sincere in their Great Work (the awakening of the Monad). Although the practice of conscious astral travel isn't really
a requirement for such self-knowledge, it is still probably the best type of tool the occult student has at his/her
disposal, not to mention the "behind the scenes" perspective the practice offers towards the rest of creation also.

It should be stated now that the occult itself is a broad term and has many philosophies; However, anyone serious
about the acquisition of gnosis (experiential knowledge) must strive to be operative rather than dwelling on the
speculative side to things. Having ideas about what something may be like is not a valid substitute for experiencing
the truth for oneself. The reality of the astral dimension and our connection to it is a Truth that can only be
experienced to be known.

In terms of speaking generally, is is taught that the Human Being possess multiple bodies or 'vehicles" in which our
conscious awareness is clothed. It is up to the individual to put forth sincere efforts towards validating this principle,
but nonetheless it is easily validated through proper experience with the truth.

In general terms again, there is not a great many people who are open to this kind of experience. Sadly, people want to
believe in things and not really experience them. Beliefs are a comfort zone that many will never decide to leave.
When we believe something we are saying to ourself: "I accept this thing as truth despite not having any experience
with it." Belief, in my experience (which is not a substantial statistic to represent the absolute population), is the one
most common factor that holds people back from achieving success with astral travel. Second is fear, and third
probably laziness or inability to apply sincere efforts in practice.

Understandably, it may thus come as a shock to many people to actually have the objective knowledge that they are
much more than their own identity with their physical body. Of all the things this practice offers, I've seen that it offers
the most valuable information about oneself and how we are connected to multiple dimensions which remain unseen
to our usual 5 senses. We are so much more than our human animal identity and the false ones we create for ourselves
with materialism and egotism.

Many begin the practice of astral travel as a means of entertainment but the practice soon lends itself to answering
profound questions about what we identify with as reality and what we don't. The serious individual soon finds
themselves applying the practice towards a greater understanding of oneself. There is little doubt that almost anyone
can perform astral projection if they apply themselves but it's been wisely stated that very few will choose to use the
practice as a spiritual tool towards unraveling the tangled mysteries of life.

FAQ's:

Among the most common questions are: "Is it safe?"

A: Absolutely safe as far as physiological health is concerned. It is a natural process the bodies go through during
sleep, but usually people begin to dream long before the separation takes place. Psychologically speaking, I wouldn't
advocate anyone susceptible to seizure activity or psychosis perform this though.

Q: "Can I die?"

A: Only if you did something to provoke that beforehand (like overdosing on drugs, eating poison, cutting your wrists
before you sleep, rigging a gun to shoot you in the head after you fall asleep, etc... you get the idea).

Q: "This isn't part of my religion. Will I go to hell?"

A: Religions usually imply that the individual subscribe to the dogmas, doctrines, and beliefs that aren't founded on
anything valid except misinterpreted symbols, scriptures and other things people don't fully understand because of
their lack of experience with the truth itself.
Hell is a similar idea, built around the principle of higher and lower dimensions but, again, misinterpreted through
fear. If you know where to look, there are actually accounts in religious scriptures that speak of astral travel as a
normal thing. Belief is a common factor holding people back from succeeding with the practice of astral travel.
Likewise, you must also get over any preconception about how the process has to happen. Just let nature do what it
does and relax!

Q: "What is the best technique to use?"

A: Whichever one you can use the best. There are many different approaches available for you to research.
Experiment and see what works best for yourself and understand what works best for one person isn't necessarily
going to work the best, or at all for that matter, for yourself because everyone is different to varying degrees.

Q: "Can someone take over my body while I'm out of it?"

A: No, not unless you invite them through ritual invocation or some type of mediumship (like séances). Do not ever
let anyone "into" your body, although I am not really sure it is even possible. You are simply conscious energy using a
physical form and are always attached to the form you are birthed into until that form/body itself dies. There may be
negative people in the astral that will try and make you think they have taken over your body but they have only
attacked your mind. Do not play around with demon worship or similar stupidity and you'll be fine.

Q: "Can I be attacked while out of body?"

A: No, and yes... Just as there are bad people in the physical world there can be bad people in the astral but the laws of
magnetism and of like-attracting-like seem to come into play where bad people go to the closest dimensions they
resonate with. Any normal, good human being will be fine but in the event someone attacked you it must again be
stated that it usually comes in the form of trickery or deception by telling you stuff that isn't necessarily true.
Sometimes people are physically attacked and it is because those things are subconscious aspects of the individuals
themselves. Kinda like your own demons attacking you.

Q: "What can I do if attacked?"

A: You can use your intuition to see who is good and who is bad (usually called NEGs, meaning "negative" entities).
If they are attempting to attack you then one can simply fight back in my experience and they run off with their tail
between their legs sort-to-speak. It is mostly mind-games for the most part. If they think you are afraid of them then
they might try something. You can perform rituals beforehand that invoke the Divine, angels, etc... also the Lesser
Ritual of the Pentagram is common practice as well as simply casting a circle of light, etc... it is rare that anyone is
attacked though. If you ask for it then you'll probably get it, know what I mean? You wouldn't walk down a dark alley
waving a handful of cash, would you? Lol.

Q: "I keep seeing strange lights as I doze off?"

A: Try to retain focus and stay aware. The "lights" are called phosphenes. They are simply neural discharges which
stimulate the visual cortex in the brain. There is no cause for alarm and although many people experience these
symptoms, they do not necessarily indicate that success with the astral separation is near. Many times the lights are a
result of the brain hallucinating different light patterns because there is no visual feedback or impressions being
received for the brain to interpret being that your eyes have been closed for some time. If you see strange "streaks"
like lightning while you are awake however, you should have an ophthalmologist examine you for retinal
detachments.

MORE INFO

You can find pretty much anything you want to hear about on the internet regarding the subject of astral travel. Try to
remain as objective as possible with your approach. There is an awful lot of theory and nonsense floating around, as is
the usual sad case with pseudo-occultism, so try to keep things experience-oriented and you'll stay on the right path.

Try to avoid all the "instant astral projection" product pitches. They are trying to sell you a commercial product and
could care less whether you actually succeed or not. The Monroe Institute has some tools available that are actually
based on a psychological science though, you can try them if you feel you need to as they have worked for some but
there is no guarantee that they will work for everyone.

Some good websites include:

www.astralvoyage.com - many articles, case studies, and links

www.astralweb.org - offers free online classes similar to gnosticawakenings.com
www.monroeinsitute.org - offers classes also and hemi-synch commercial products (good but not guaranteed)
www.astraldynamics.com - Robert Bruce's site (I think it's his, they have vids of him at least).

Some books I would read:

"Projection of the Astral Body" by Sylvan Muldoon and Heward Carrington - Early composition of the duo's work
together.
"The Case For Astral Projection: Hallucination Or Reality" by Sylvan Muldoon - More about it from him, lol.
"When I Go To Sleep" by Mark Pritchard aka "Belzebuub" - Astralweb authors book designed to be used in
conjunction with courses (optional).
"Journeys Out of the Body" by Robert Monroe - exactly what it says it's about.
"Ultimate Journey" by Robert Monroe - continues to explain the phenomena in more depth.
"Far Journeys" by Robert Monroe - another classic of his describing his institutes's actual research and experiments.

More?

"The Revolution of the Dialectic" by Samael Aun Weor - very good approach to understanding our own psychology at
work.
"Astral Travel - Body of Light" by Aliester Crowley - explains why a better, objective approach is needed than the
subjective ideas of the theorists.

There is much more but remember to stick to the operative side of this and not the speculative. Use your own
discretion to see if someone is either sincere or if they're trying to sell you a quick fix. There are many subjective
distractions.

This blog has been my attempt to point the uninitiated in a good direction. I've been through the searching-for-
information process and these sources were the best I have come across. That isn't to say there aren't any more, I just
haven't found them if they're out there.

So practice hard! Put in sincere efforts and I will see you in the astral!
