AT&T BOOSTS AUTO SHOW COVERAGE IN COBO CENTER

New 4G LTE Network Technology Gives Better Connection for Auto Show, Concerts
and Other Events
DETROIT, JAN. 12, 2016 Just in time for the 2016 North American International Auto Show
(NAIAS) at Detroits Cobo Center, car enthusiasts can enjoy stronger connections as they share the
moment with friends and family.
AT&T* has boosted its mobile Internet coverage at Cobo. Were upgrading our network by installing a
new Distributed Antenna System (DAS). This gives customers a better wireless experience at the
venue for the all the activities related to the auto show, as well as future concerts, conventions and
other events on site.
A DAS is made of numerous, small antennas that distribute AT&Ts wireless network coverage. It
shortens the distance a call or text must travel. Calls, texts and posts are less likely to get stuck in a
traffic jam of other calls, texts and posts.
Cobo Center is a meeting and convention facility located at 1 Washington Blvd. in Detroit.
When our customers head out to Cobo to attend this years auto show events, we want them to have a
great network experience. Weve improved the network so they can easily make a call, post pictures,
or download apps, said Jim Murray, president, AT&T Michigan. Were continuing to invest in our

wireless network to help customers at Cobo Center stay connected whether they are looking at cars,
attending a concert or participating in other events.
We constantly invest in our network to give customers the high-quality services they need to stay
connected. This helps Michigan residents get the best possible experience over the AT&T network,
whether at home, at work or on the go. We have the nations strongest LTE signal,** and the nations
most reliable LTE network.***
The North American International Auto Show always features fast cars, and thanks to AT&T, this years
show will feature faster Internet and wireless speeds, too, said Rod Alberts, executive director of the
Detroit Auto Dealers Association. AT&Ts investment in stronger, faster connections at Cobo Center will
keep auto dealers and visitors better connected than ever before. With innovations like these, visitors
can expect 2016 to offer a great auto show experience.
Over the past 6 years (2009-2014), AT&T invested more than $140 billion including investments in its
wireless and wireline networks, acquisitions of wireless spectrum and operations. Since 2009, AT&T
has invested more in the U.S. than any other public company. In 2014, the Progressive Policy Institute
ranked AT&T No. 1 on its list of U.S. Investment Heroes.
