Jewelry Management

System
Introduction
In Jewelry business, jewelers are maintaining their
customers/karigars ledgers manually in which there are chances
of human error/mistakes which may lead to loss in their business.
Its difficult to remember the customers history if jeweler had
received any order or done any repair or alternation work.
Thus we have designed Jewelry Management Software for retail as
well as wholesale business or operations. In Jewelry management
software, inventory of customers can be easily maintain; Jeweler
can check any previous history of the customer as it helps in
tracking the sale.
Jewelry Management Software is capable of maintaining different
inventories for precious metal; even there is a provision in which
jeweler can set price rate for customers, metals which he can
update with a single key while billing which helps in saving waste
of time. In Jewelry Management Software, there are all necessary
features required in jewelry business i.e. Approval, Purchase &
Plannings, Finance, Crate- wise Stock Management, Karigar
Account and many more features for running this business
smoothly.

Existing System
The present system is totally depend on manual data
management for different activities such as maintaining details of
customer,supplier etc.

They maintain Different registers for various activities such as


storing and searching data which is tedious and time consuming
task.
In present system all transactions are done manually with pen
and paper so the frequent updating is not possible. Also
generating reports, bills accurately is not possible with current
system.
There are various other problems for instance, if customer come
for the inquiry of particular Parcel and if that Parcel is not
available then it is difficult to remember about it.
In short system is lacking facilities such as searching, deleting
,adding data efficiently and effectively.

Problems in existing system


1. It is manual and time consuming.
2. It utilizes a large amount of space for customer and supplier
transaction information in paper files
3. Some time manual calculation may be incorrect thus, leading
to the incorrect information
4. A large amount of data cannot be viewed at a glance
5. No reminder for customer and Purchaser.
6. Some time the calculation has to be done manually so it
requires a lot of work.
7. Updating is not performed that efficiently and may lead
complications.

8. No security as data can be misplaced or damaged.


9. Lastly, it does not offer a user friendly work environment

Limitations in existing system


Working with current system is quite tedious, complicated and
time consuming task. It may lead errors .certain operations such
as surfing searching, adding, removing, entries cannot be done
efficiently.
Maintaining different registers for various activities such as
storing and searching data which is tedious and time consuming
task.
Generating reports, bills are much tedious task with new system.
Hence the organization needs new system with enhanced
features.
Features such as automatic report generation, bill generation,
computing complicated calculations, performing operations such
as adding, deleting, updating and searching etc. System should
be user friendly.

Purpose & Scope of the Project


The purpose of this application is to develop a Jeweler
Management System. The system would be easy to use and
hence make the shopping experience pleasant for the users. The
purpose and scope of this application are:-

To develop an easy to use interface where Jeweler can search for


products, view a complete description of the products and order
the products.

Min Intel Pentium IV 1.5 GHz Processor or Above
Min 1 GB RAM or above
Min 10 GB Hard Disk

Conclusion
This application is an initiative to streamline age old profession of
jewellery and transform it to suit the needs of current customers
by following the recent trends, and provide gold service and
marketing at any corner in shorter time with high security.
