How to compute the price of embroidery?

5:59 AM

We have realized that embroidery is a decorative task which creates an additional

appeal to apparel in order to enhance Latitude. Hence, it has now become more
popular and widely used in apparel industry. Most of the order received from
buyer, generally exist one or several types of embroidery task. Modem embroidery
machines are fully automatic. All works are computer generated and these
machines deliver high efficiency and productivity. This automatic embroidery
machine built in data processing unit that perform well and can create multicolored
embroidery quickly.

Based on data prepared in advance by

floppy disk or pen drive, high-speedy and fine quality embroidery is produced
automatically. And, through the thread trimmer, they are easy-to-operate fullfunction with keyboard and the comprehensive editing functions, monogramming
and embroidering can be combined. This machine can handle an extremely wide
range of embroidery applications for ladies blouses, sweaters, children's wear and
jackets etc.
Nowadays we urged by our clients and well-wishers to disclose the secret method
of calculating the price of embroidery and applique. Today we will share our secret
method to you. Embroidery design made by digitizer and it fees are considered on
"Per Stitch" count that has to pay one time. We can easily get total stitches what are
requires in a particular design by modern embroidery machine. So, we can
estimate individual design cost by using below formula. Embroidery cost mainly
depends upon design size, types of design, fabric character and per stitch count of
digitized logo. Once finished the logo, stitches quantity can be count by wilcom
software to find the cost of the embroidery.
For computing the price of embroidery we need to know the following information
first and consider some parameters:
1) Design stitch quantity. Suppose, it is 6000
2) Rate of per unit. If, it is $0.40/12,000 stitches. (It is variable and may depends
on the embroidery design, production capability, factory location, labor cost etc)
Now we will find out the cost per dozen.
= (Total Stitch quantity X 12 / 12000)
= (Total Stitch quantity X 12) / 12000 X Rate per unit

= (6000 X 12) / 12000 X $0.40

= 72000 / 12000 X $0.40
= 6 X $0.40
= $2.40/dozen (without embroidery materials cost)
= $2.40 + $.60 for embroidery materials.
= $3.0
Anyway, embroidery rate per unit is not always fixed. It could be changed depends
on embroidery design, category and practical situations.
Please download the cost format from my drop box link if you desire to get an
excel file.
Here is my drop box link:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/93939424/GF/EMBO%20PRICE.xls
Moreover, if the embroidery design exists applique then we should consider dies
making cost, applique cutting cost and extra applique fabric for dies cutting
applique wastage. Embroidery factory will propose their embroidery rate
considering all these factors. We have to take help of outside embroidery factories
if factory do not have sufficient embroidery machine. Embroidery rate per unit
may differ from one factory to another factory considering their product quality &
efficiency, compliance, machine quality, establishment cost, variable cost etc.

An overview of Embroidery Techniques!

7:00 AM

Embroidery is an essential, ornamental and artistic needlework consisting of

designs worked on fabric either by hand or machine. Embroidery plays an
important role to make a unique garment item. It is very essential to decorate a
garment. It has to be set on a specific garment zone according to buyers
expectation and it will make the apparel more gorgeous what raise an
additional appeal to consumers. Currently most of the ready-made
garments made with different kinds of embroidery task.

Each buyer contains individual logo or Icon to promote their brands. Generally
buyer wishes to have an attractive embroidery design or logo on their product. That
design or logo represent buyers slogan. Let us discuss regarding embroidery
techniques, embroidery machinery, digitizing systems etc.
Digitizing is a combination of having natural skill in art management and computer
process that takes a design, photo, drawing or sketch and converts it to an
embroidery design to decorate fabric or other substance. That design is then
programmed into computerized machines like DST file to prepare the desired
outcome of something, an age-old course of action of needle and thread called
embroidery. It is more than an art and preferred still today.
Embroidery Design
As we know embroidery is an ornament of any garments, so it should be nice
looking and durable. Sometime buyer will provide embroidery design diskette or
sometime they will provide only embroidery sketch with desire color combination.
If buyer provide embroidery design diskette, its well but if provide only
embroidery sketch with desire color combination that time we need to develop that
embroidery design by local embroidery punching technician.
They have the vast knowledge to execute all designs in house even the most
complicated designs. They are very proud of their digitizers experience. Mainly the
results of a design are determined by the ability to do something well of a designer.
Whether they are using old designs or digitizing from unusual rough drawing, they
always try to provide the highest quality. We called this process as
embroidery digitize or punching.
Usually, the designer use tremendous Wilcom software for making this type of
design then it has to input in the embroidery machine by using floppy disk or pen

drive. Then the design could be visualized in the attached monitor of embroidery
machine.

Multi head embroidery machines are

now more popular and used. Embroidery machine contains automatic
high-speed multi function which is built in data processing unit
that able to sew multicolored embroidery.
Usually buyer will fix the embroidery design or logo size, position and color
combination etc during sample development. Moreover, we need to fix embroidery
finishing, durability, after washing effect, measurement etc before bulk production.
All embroidery design should be approved by buyer.
Before placing bulk order buyer may want to know factories embroidery capability
because it will affect production lead time. If factory do not have own embroidery
facility or not have secure embroidery source it will affect production chain.
Nowadays many apparel industries have set up their own embroidery unit to
expedite smooth production but some small garment's factory do not have own
embroidery unit. That time they do their embroidery task from outside embroidery
factories. It also profitable business if someone wishes to set up only embroidery
factories.
Tajima and Barudan are two renowned durable embroidery machine providers in
this business. Tajima is perfect for light garments like as jacket & pant, T-shirt,
rain-wear etc. And Barudan is perfect for some serious products like as- shoe, cap,
backpack and tent etc. Price of these appliances is very high comparison with some
other so called china embroidery machine.

Currently many china companies are supplying different kinds of embroidery

device. What is much cheaper than Tajima or Barudan. Though china embroidery
machine is cheap but these machines performance quality, longevity, salvage value
is not satisfactory than Tajima or Barudan. Only someone can choose these chines
machines whenever their running capital is not enough. If someone wishes to gain
long time benefit then they should choice Tajima or Barudan embroidery machine.
We should consider following parameters before going to purchase an embroidery
machine:
i) Number of heads of that embroidery machine
ii) Number of needles (how many colors we can do at a time)
iii) Embroidery floor space and demand of incoming bulk order.
If we purchase an embroidery device considering tiny area or capability then we
cannot able to do embroidery task smoothly or perfectly.
Especially if girls costume or kids wear do not having different decorative tasks,
they will lose interest to purchase those products. For this reason designer always
apply much attractive design on their products to make an appeal to their targeted
consumers. Basically these designs played a vital role to increase ready-made
garments demand among us. And now a days embroidery industries are doing this
ornamental task very quickly by automated multi headed computerized machine.
Export of ready-made garments is increasing every year by the help of embroidery
industries.

If a product asking value is $10, then the contribution of print and embroidery is at
least $2. That means if print and embroidery does not exist, this can be sold by $8.
Embroidery sector are growing rapidly by amplifying beautification of garments. It
also adds additional value add service that creates employment. So, we can easily
realize the importance and value add service of these supporting industries in
apparel industry what is inevitable
