BLUE MAX FCP-316L

AWS: E316LT1-1, E316LT1-4, E316T1-1, E316T1-4 Stainless Steel Flux-Cored Wire

WELDING POSITIONS

ADVANTAGE LINCOLN
Designed for out-of-position
welding, especially vertical-up and
overhead.
Right choice for many stainless steel
applications that involve welding in a
variety of positions.
Special slag system produces a
heavy, fast-freezing slag cover,
which is partially self-peeling.

1G

1F

3F

75-80% Argon, 25-20% CO2

shielding gas is recommended.
Spatter is practically non-existent
with 75% Argon, 25% CO2 with
100% CO2 spatter is still very low.
Manufactured under a quality
system certified to ISO 9001
requirements.

Blue Max FCP-316L wire is designed

for out-of-position joining of types 316
and 316L stainless steels, especially
in the vertical-up and overhead
positions. Excellent choice when the
job calls for several position changes
no need to adjust procedures.

BLUE MAX S308/308L

AWS: ER308, ER308L Stainless Steel Submerged Arc Wire

Designed primarily for submerged arc

welding with basic fluxes. Balanced
chromium and nickel levels to provide
enough ferrite in the weld metal for
high resistance to hot cracking.

Lincolnweld ST-100 flux adds minor

amounts of chromium.
DC+ is the preferred polarity. In
some cladding operations DC- may
be preferred.
Manufactured under a quality
system certified to ISO 9001
requirements.

ADVANTAGE LINCOLN
Designed primarily for submerged
arc welding with basic fluxes that
recover nearly all of the wires
chromium in the weld deposit.
Along with Blue Max 2000 flux,
several Lincolnweld fluxes can be
used; 801, 802, 880, 880M, 882
and ST-100.

ASTM A743, A744 Types CF-8 and

CF-3.
Can also serve well as cold-wire or
hot-wire filler metals in TIG (GTAW),
plasma arc welding and other
applications for solid stainless wires.

WELDING POSITIONS

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
For joining the more common
austenitic stainless steel grades
referred to as 18-8 steels.

BLUE MAX 4000

Stainless Steel Electroslag Flux

Blue Max 4000 is a neutral flux

designed for cladding, using the electroslag welding process with stainless
steel and nickel based strip electrodes.

ADVANTAGE LINCOLN

WELDING POSITIONS

Little penetration into the base

metal, which results in high alloy
and low carbon content, even in
the first layer of cladding.
Manufactured under a quality
system certified to ISO 9001
requirements.

Electroslag differs from submerged arc

strip cladding in that there is no arc in
the electroslag mode.
Heat is generated by electrical
resistance to melt the strip electrode
and maintain a molten slag bath. Flux
is added only in front of the strip
electrode except during initiation
where it is needed on both sides to
prevent flashing and to build the
slag bath.

LINCOLNWELD ST-100

Stainless Steel Submerged Arc Flux

Lincolnweld ST-100 is an alloy flux for

use with solid stainless steel wires. It
is formulated to compensate for the
chromium in the wire that is not
recovered in the weld deposit.

Good performance on seamer

applications.

ADVANTAGE LINCOLN

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Formulated to compensate for the

chromium in the wire that is not
recovered in the weld deposit.

General submerged arc welding of

common austenitic stainless steels
such as 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 309
and 347.

WELDING POSITIONS

Manufactured under a quality

system certified to ISO 9001

Slag removal characteristics are

exceptionally good, even on
niobium (columbium) bearing steels
which normally cause slag to
adhere to the weld metal.
