Being a 14 goal tournament, this cup witnesses an intense competition between 8 teams where fine horsemanship, swift maneuvers, meticulous planning and skilful execution are requisite for survival. With time, the popularity of this cup has increased manifold to the extent that this royal sport also gets transformed into a fashion event with the elite class and the whos who of Jaipur displaying the art of fine dressing. CUP 2011 Finals of Sirmur Cup 2011 between Cavalry Carysil (13 goal) and Equisport (14 goal) witnessed a jam-packed house, awesome enthusiasm to the point of being infectious! Equisport represented by the players of the likes of Simran Shergil, Lokendra Singh, Navjot Sandhu offered a neck-to-neck competition to Cavalry Carysil represented by the likes of local hero Samir Suhag (+5 goaler). Right from the word go, the fierce battle for ball control and supremacy began and with each goal scored the tension and the excitement built up. Amidst incessant cheering and roaring applause, Samir Suhag, the best polo player in India, literally snatched the ball single-handedly from Simran Shergil (+4 goaler) and galloped towards the goal post chased by Simar Shergil from the left and Navjot Sandhu (+4 goaler) from the right. Seeing their local hero in action, the crowd went berserk, their hearts pounding, the horses panting, players tenaciously jostling, the whole environment got densely charged up and and suddenly it all culminated with a thunderous thud the sound of sweet part of the stick resulting in a blazing shot past the goal posts!!! Cavalry Carysil, though started with half goal advantage finally won the finals defeating Equisport by 8.5 6 margin and lifted the SIRMUR CUP 2011 from the hands of H.H. Princess Diya Kumari. Samir Suhag (+5 goaler) was awarded the most coveted Best Player of the Tournament award also by H.H. Princess Diya Kumari. Polo is not only a sport but also symbolizes lifestyle. This fact is evident from the much hyped and eagerly awaited After Polo Parties hosted by the organizers.
