BARANGAY BANCAO-BANCAO: INNOVATION PLANS YEAR 2015

Barangay Bancao-Bancao is a cultural eco-tourism community, and marine products trading center
of Puerto Princesa City, where God fearing, healthy, self-reliant, and empowered residents and
entrepreneurs live in harmony with nature. The BDC members has established six primary goals and
objectives for the use of funds to be administered on March to December 2015. These funds are from the
20% of the barangays development fund.
To provide better quality of living, sustainable delivery of basic services, carry-out the mandates and
ensure transparency, here are the following proposals for the integration of the community as well as a
detailed narrative of each goal, objective and the fundamental conditions.
1. DRAINAGE.
Occasionally, a portion of the community's water or sewer system breaks down. There are water bubbling up
on residents lawn or through a crack on the street, or even sewage backing up. Approximately 500,00Php of
fund needed to have a convenient passable roads and proper drainage system in the community.

2. ROADS.

Some parts in the community have poor driving surfaces. Poorly maintained roadways cause accidents in a
variety of ways, mostly due to the fact that they create an enormous hazard to drivers. Approximately
200,00Php of fund will be needed in order to have more convenient passable roads and to maintain the basic
services in the community.
3. STREETLIGHTS.
Street lighting ensures safety to literally every citizen it is an essential public service that provides a safer
environment at nighttime to commuters as well as pedestrians. Approximately 150,000Php needed to fix the
lack of adequate light at night that has given rise to poor living conditions and such us, street crimes, and
other mishaps in the community.

4. MAINTENANCE OF MULTI-PURPOSE HALL

Multi-purpose hall is a building or large room used for many different types of community events, services,
and other activities such as for the senior citizens and it is used for E-learning center of the community.
Approximately 200,00Php in order to maintain and rehabilitate the existing multi-purpose hall for the
convenience of the citizens when activities and gatherings are held.

5. NEW TANOD OUTPOST.

A barangay tanod is also known as a barangay police officer. It is the lowest level of law enforcement officer
in the Philippines. In the area, these officers does not have a proper outpost where they can use as an office.
Approximately 100,000Php is needed in order to make a better outpost for them who response to any type of

atrocities, public disorders, emergencies and even disasters or man-made calamities that threaten peace and
order and public safety of the community.

6. DEEP WELLS. Approximately 57,727Php needed in order to purchase and install deep wells for the
citizens to have safer and potable drinking water.
ECONOMIC DATA:

A. EMPLOYMENT DATA: the total number of employed residents in barangay Bancao-Bancao are 5,781,
locally; 1,254 overseas; and 2,354 self-employed. The major sources of livelihood are employment,
business, and construction workers, second is fishing. Lastly, farming and hog raising.

C. INFRASTRUCTURE
Communication services in barangay Bancao-Bancao: there is one telephone server which is
PLDT that serves 989 people in the area; two cellular and internet network sites which are Smart and
Globe.
Facilities owned and operated by the barangay government as of 2007 are barangay hall
which serves as the admin of the place, barangay health center that ensures the medical facilities of
the place, 5 day care centers for the children, and 5 playgrounds for recreational purposes of the
barangay.
V. BARANGAY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
The proposed priority projects of the barangay for 2014 onwards are 20% Development Fund which
costs 1,050,690.00Php
