Accompanying Statement:

PlatinumTel does not maintain any personal records of virtually all the users of the service
including but not limited to name, address, social security number, date of birth, alternate
telephone number, or any other personal records. PlatinumTel does not know the name of the
individual buyers of its service from the retail dealers. Therefore, when a customer calls
PlatinumTel for any questions regarding his/her phone service, the customer has to provide the
PlatinumTel phone number that he/she purchased from the dealer, the phone serial number, the
scratch PIN number, and/or the location of the dealer who activated the phone. The actual
customer has to be on the line in order to discuss the specifics regarding his service. At all times,
he/she has to have the actual handset with him when making the call. On the other hand,
PlatinumTel never provides or verifies any personal information whatsoever to any caller, simply
because this information is not available to customer service.
PlatinumTel already requires a password for online access for both new and existing customers.
The initial password setup must be performed online by the customer only. All the biographical
information such as name, address, DOB, and gender that the customer provides when creating
the password is securely kept in the IT database under restricted access. This biographical
information is not even available to customer service. Therefore, it cannot be provided to any
caller, whether it was the actual customer or anyone else.
Regarding data brokers and customer complaints pertaining to unauthorized release of CPNI,
such issues do not exist for the services that PlatinumTel provides. The main reason is that
PlatinumTel does not provide any biographical records of the customers that might be used by any
unauthorized caller or requester. PlatinumTel does not share any of the very limited CPNI that it
possesses with third parties for any reason period.
Although the FCCs new CPNI rules will apply to all carriers, both wireline and wireless,
PlatinumTel as a wholesaler/reseller of prepaid wireless does not have any significant issues
related to the CPNI rules and regulations. However, PlatinumTel has implemented stringent rules
and will continue to improve its system to safeguard the marginal CPNI of its customers from any
unauthorized use or access. PlatinumTel has been and will continue to comply with new CPNI
rules to protect the privacy of its customers. PlatinumTel implemented a new design for its
website that clearly provides the privacy policy listed in the following page and updates it
periodically.
