Cordym Tours and Travel, Inc.(CTTI) is a full service company specializing in business travel
and event management. With 22 years experience in the business travel industry we have
provided our clients with personalized and professional services. We pride ourselves as one
of the leading travel agencies in the industry.
We are experts in the line of:
Travel Management where we provide expert advice to ensure that you are getting the
best value from your expenditure on business and leisure travels especially tailored to
your requirements. We help you in planning and making sure that you have alternatives
or diversity of choices.
Our international partners from the airline, hotel and travel tour industries ensure our
local presence that we can provide you with added levels of service and convenience.
Event management is one of the fastest growing sectors of the travel and incentive
event market. We are highly placed in the industry to have planned and managed unique
corporate events and special interest programs in the local and international markets.
We give an unbiased and equal service and assistance whether its a small or large,
private or public event. We make sure that we work with our clients from the planning,
actual and post event. We are proud to say that our expertise has ensured successful
events and have met the requirements of our clients.
Cordym Tours and Travel, Inc. is affiliated with its other sister company, Asian Gem and
Tourism Foundation, which handles the projects and program related to tourism and
preservation of the Filipino culture. This is the arm that handles big events such as local
and international conventions and exhibitions, as well as cultural shows.

History
Cordym Tours and Travel, Inc. secured its licenses from the Department of Tourism and
the Securities and Exchange Commission on December 11, 1990 and formally started its
operations on January 04, 1991. It is primarily engaged in tours by land, sea and air
transportations.
The company is majority-owned by Cordym Philippines, Inc. a Central Bank licensed
consumer-lending company. Cordym Philippines has been in business for twenty nine (29)
years and has two (2) branches within Metro Manila. Its permanent headquarters is located
at the 3rd Floor of LTA Building, No. 118 Perea St., Legaspi Village, Makati City. A
subsidiary of the company, Cordym Realty Corporation, owns the head office condominium
property.

Cordym Tours have individual stockholders who in their own right own companies engaged
in the construction, property development and transport companies.
GENERAL SERVICES:
General Scope of Travel-Related Services:
Cordym Tours and Travel prides itself to be an expert in servicing travel and travel related
needs of corporate accounts. The owners/managers, having been widely exposed in the
corporate world, realized the unique needs of various companies and have tailored its
services to answer these needs.
Further, hands-on owners/officers and managers run the company. Any request or situations
arising not from ordinary or usual circumstances are addressed and decided on the spot.
Actions are swift, fast and decisive.
Itinerary Planning and Consultation
The Cordym Travel counselors are experts in providing travel itineraries and advices. The
first considerations in our International/Domestic Ticketing work procedure is always to
give the client different choices of the best airline/rates, routing, promos and their
restrictions based on the travelers requirements. Our company religiously updates our
clients with travel seasons promos. We use data and voice facilities to communicate your
itineraries or schedules.
In Plant Airline Reservations
We are using the ABACUS and Amadeus systems for our airline reservations. The client
usually provides us with a computer wherein we install an in-plant reservation system to be
used by the Travel Coordinator for easy and immediate booking of airline reservations. We
can directly reserve local and international booking. For waitlisted passengers our good
relationship with various airlines helps in getting preferential bookings and confirmations.
Airline Tickets
We can provide you electronic ticket as long as the airline is already using that system, and
deliver this to the client/traveler or forward through the e-mail whichever the client prefers
or to his convenience. We have built good personal relationship with various airlines for
preferential bookings and confirmations.
We also arrange the travelers preferred seat arrangement. We accommodate award ticket
reservations with just a minimal fee.
Rates and Airline Incentives

Our rates are very reasonable, fair and competitive with the other IATA member travel
agencies. We have special rates from the airlines. For group and volume departures, we can
negotiate or arrange for special rates. Transparency is our standard and honesty is the
practice.
Employee Incentive Travel Arrangements
From time to time, International and Local operator awards familiarization tours (FAM
Tours) a program inviting travel agencies to send participants involved in travel
arrangements for a familiarization tour. We send our employees to this program to be able to
experience and rate the place and accommodations. We also offer/share this to exclusive
corporate accounts so that the clients designated personnel can check the
accommodations/place for future use.
International Tours
Just like ticketing, it is in our procedure that we always give the client different choices of
the best available tour and hotel rates, the seasons promos and their restrictions based on the
travelers requirements.
Cordym Tours and Travel is a member of several travel international consortiums with
special arrangements / accommodations with some international tour operators and can
design international packages. The group sells wholesale to its direct clients and other travel
agencies as well. It has existing agreements with international tour operators for direct
access for reservations, bookings and credit facilities.
Local Tours and Travel
Our Travel counselors handling inbound tours are experts in arranging domestic air travel
and land arrangement or packages inclusive of hotel accommodation, conference venue and
incentivized requirements
Our company is member of several travel local consortiums with special package rate
arrangements with local tour operators and is allowed to design packages based on the
clients requirements. It has existing agreements with local tour operators for direct access
for reservations, bookings and credit facilities.
Customized/Specialized Tours
Our Travel Events Group are experts in handling special events such as product launching,
special interest programs, business conferences, conventions, meetings and Lay Events
customized to the budget and requirements of the client. We design incentive packages for
both local and foreign clients as well as secretariat services for both local and international
conferences.

International/Hotel Reservations
Being a member of several travel consortiums (international and local), our company has
special arrangements with some international and tour operators and can design
international/local packages. It has existing agreements with international tour operators for
direct access for reservations, bookings and credit facilities.
International/Local Car Rental Reservations
We have special rate arrangements with several accredited reputable car rental agencies.
Airport Assistance
Special airport assistance for VIP incoming and departing passenger at the NAIA
internstional and domestic airports can be arranged.
We also hold pre-departure briefings for individual and / or group departures.
Ground Transportation Services
Since we have accreditation and special rate arrangement from hotels and car rental services,
our company can handle and accommodate airport transfers, office and residential
transportation at a very minimal cost.
Insurance
Travel insurance policies from prestigious international assurers are already incorporated in
the reservation system. If the client wants to avail of this, based on the clients
requirements, we can already compute the premium. For preferred rates, we can negotiate
and make special arrangements with the supplier in behalf of the client.
Travel Information Programs
We can arrange information dissemination in the form of awareness seminar on travel
procedures and other related products and services, and provide updates on revisions,
promos and special offers related to travel, land arrangements and documentation
procedures.
Visa & Other Documentations Processing
We handle complete documentation services such as passporting, visa assistance, NSO &
Immigration services. We are accredited with the National Census Statistics Office (NCSO),
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Bureau of Immigration and various embassies that
allow accreditation.

Ticketing Procedure
We religiously follow a standard operating procedure on ticketing for our incividual clients
but for corporate accounts, the company can incorporate in its system the procedure that is
most acceptable to the client.

Ms. Marceline Clemente, its President, is an active member of several Travel and Tour
Associations and is currently the President of SKAL International Manila and the Tourism
Congress of the Philippines, the private counterpart of the Department of Tourism under the
new tourism act. She also made her mark in other non-travel related organizations by
serving as President/Trustee of the Corporate Planning Society of the Philippines and The
Asian Productivity Organization.
D. Officers/ Staffs
The company is professionally managed by individuals with vast exposure and training in
various fields such as: finance, travel and human resources. The following lead the company
in its day to day operations:

It is ably assisted by a pool of well-trained staff of twelve (12) personnel ranging from
accounts coordinator reservations and booking staffs, marketing assistants, secretaries,
liaison staffs (for Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Embassies) and a pool of three (3)
messengerial personnel.
E. Facilities and Equipments:
The equipment used in the company are school supplies like bond papers, fax papers,
notebooks, note pad, marker, envelop, brown envelop, folders and pens.
There are computers wherein they use it to search and book a flight, they use it to fix
a tour package and arrange a package. Fax machine, use it to send documents from other
department or office like airlines and other travel agency offices. Telephones use to call
other travel agencies, resorts, hotels to check the availability of flights and rooms and check
packages. Cell phones, wherein when one officer is on field, they still contact them and they
use it also to call other agencies. Xerox Machine, they use it to have a copy of the
documents of the customers like ticket and passport and Id. They also have a cabinet
wherein they store their contracted rates and other important files.

A. Areas of Concern: STATUS AND ANALYSIS
1. Organization Structure
General Manager Ms. Celine Clemente plan, organize, direct and control the
operations of travel-related organizations. She also coordinates and directs the activities of
staff, overseeing not only the day-to-day tasks, but the hiring, training and evaluating of staff
members as well. She also research new products and destinations, often by travelling to
them and experiencing first hand the services available.
Treasurer Mr. Ciriofredo Aldaba assess, review and protect the company
financial wellbeing. He makes decisions about company funding options, insurance
contracts and other financial issues.
Vice President - Mr. Eugenio Uy Jr. and Mr. Ernesto Brion maximize the companys
growth and profitability while leading and managing all company operations functions. This
includes implementing potentially profitable short- and long-term programs and processes to
optimize work flow. They review and approve plans to control budget spending, labor
efficiency, material efficiency, new areas of technology.
Corporate Secretary Atty. Lemuel Santos manages office space/premises and
property, maintain current awareness about the company law, handling correspondence
before and after the meeting. She also guide company directors about the day-to-day
management of their organizations, including compliance with legal and statutory
requirements.

3. Operations System and Procedures


Cordym Tours and Travel, Inc. branch operates 8:30 in the morning up to 5:30 in the
afternoon every Mondays to Fridays. While on Saturdays, they only operate from 8:30 in the
morning up to 12:30 in the afternoon. Openers are obliged to set up the office and assure that
the electricity should be functioning.
Employees wear their casual clothes. Wearing pants and blouses or dresses, as long as it
is formal in the eye of others. Setting up the area and checking if the internet is working.

B. RECOMMENDATION
As a trainee, I recommend that Cordym Tours and Travel, Inc. should change the
reservations desk because the officers cant move because of the little space. They should
update the packages that are posted in their glass door. In terms of employees, they must hire
someone who at least knows the basics in computers.
C. CONCLUSION
In the travel agency training, Ive learned on how to make a booking using the global
distribution system, the Amadeus. Ive also learned on how to accept incoming calls who
want to have a booking. Ive learn how to book a ticket from different kinds of airlines like
Cebu Pacific, Tiger Air, Philippine Airline and Air Asia . I have developed as a trainee to
follow strictly on instructions to ensure that the process is properly sequence. Ask question,
if required, to clarify your understanding about things and this prevent you for incurring
errors. I can say that I gained to work effectively and competently in the organization. I
improve my self confidence in socializing to people. I have the initiative in doing something.
Ive learned to be flexible, because culture is always changing, thus impacting the business
model and corporate culture as well. Working with the people there is such a pleasure to me
because they are all very approachable and treat us like colleagues.
In my 400 hours of OJT I can say that the course I enrolled is exactly where I want
and I will probably stay in this profession for as long job opportunities are present. My onthe-job training exposes me to the real scenario of life and the decision-making as I
encounter the real life problem, this training is very helpful to me as a student because it
prepared me on my future job. After the training, I realized that on-the-job training is not
just a requirement to be completed but it is an opportunity to show what skills, knowledge
and talents that I have and also an opportunity to experience the feeling of being a
professional already.
