ArcGlobeandsavethemasalayerfile,thenaddthelayerfiletoanArcMapdocument.Thestepsbelowshowhowyoucanapplyextrusion
andsaveacorrespondinglayerfilethatyoucanuselaterinArcMap.
Steps:
1. StartArcGlobeandaddafeatureclass.
2. Inthe TableofContents,rightclickthelayerandclick Properties.
3. Clickthe GlobeExtrusiontab.

4. Check Extrudefeaturesinlayerand Donotdrawbottomfaceofextrudedpolygons.Alsochoosetoapplytheextrusionby addingittoeachf

height.
5. Clickthe GlobeExtrusiontabinArcGlobe.

6. Setan Extrusionvalueorexpression.Thisdetermineshowfarthefeatureswillpopoutofthemap.Youcanopenthe ExpressionBuilder

helpconstructingtheexpression.Inthiscase,thepolygonfeaturesareextrudedbymultiplyingthevalueofthePOP10_SQMIattribute
(POP10_SQMI*250),andaddingthisvaluetothefeaturebaseheight.Thisisanarbitraryvalueselectedforappearanceonly.Youma
experimentwithyourexpressiontogettheappearancethewayyouwant.
