Dr.

Hayes Wicker, Senior Pastor

Churchwide

A Passion, Not a Program

Jesus commanded us to take His good news to the whole
world. At First Baptist Church Naples, we have sought
to obey that Great Commission because of the Great
Commandments to love God with our entire being and
to love our neighbors as ourselves. This is not just an
emphasis but a lifestyle, not just a program but a passion,
not just something we allocate to the budget but allow to
saturate our being as believers.
As we offer our Kingdom Missions Conference, we are honored to have two
special guests as speakers in our four worship services. Dr. Jarrett Stephens
from Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas is speaking in the Saturday and
Sunday morning contemporary worship services, at 6:00 pm and at 11:00 am.
Dr. Al Gilbert is speaking in the Sunday worship services at 9:30 and 11:00 in the
Worship Center. Both are passionately committed to missions. Dr. Gilbert has
pastored large churches in Virginia and North Carolina as well as serving with
the International Mission Board and currently with the North American Mission
Board. Jarrett, one of our Conventions most dynamic young communicators,
speaks to thousands regularly. They will give fresh voices to our vision.
Lets renew our call to praying, giving, and going. You will receive a special
commitment card to intercede for a particular people group and to give regularly
above and beyond our Operating Budget to the special Missions Offering. We
greatly exceeded our goal last year and now have a new vision for $500,000.
This is in addition to our allocated budget giving to the Cooperative Program of
Southern Baptist missions, which supports thousands of overseas missionaries
as well as hundreds of church planters in North America. We were second in
Florida in the amount given at $505,430.48.
We continue to emphasize the importance of international missions, realizing
that 97% of American resources tend to concentrate in Jerusalem, Judea, and
Samaria rather than penetrating the ends of the earth. However, as a church
we want to be more involved with church planting efforts in unreached areas
such as Alaska and Los Angeles. We thank God for the many mission partners
who have been raised up through our church who will be supported by the
Kingdom Missions Offering.

Dr. Jarrett
Stephens

Dr. Al Gilbert

Jarrett Stephens (Teaching Pastor at Prestonwood

Baptist Church in Dallas) will be our guest speaker on
Saturday night at 6:00pm and also at our Sunday 11:00am
Chapel service. Originally from Bossier City, Louisiana,
Jarrett graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with
a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Psychology.
He received his Master of Divinity from Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006, and his Doctorate
of Ministry from Liberty Theological Seminary in January
2012. He is married to Debbie and they have four
daughters (Riley, Kelsey, Cameron, and Landry).

Al Gilbert (Vice President of Evangelism at the North American Mission Board)

will be our guest speaker at our Sunday 9:30am and 11:00am worship center
services. Prior to joining the North American Mission Board in September 2011,
Al served as Senior Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North
Carolina; Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia; and a church plant in
Northern Virginia. Al served on the Southern Baptist Conventions Executive
Committee and also spent five years as special assistant to the president
at the International Mission Board. He graduated from Georgia College and
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Al and his wife, Karen (known as
KK), have four children and eleven grandchildren.

Quarterly Business Meeting

Wednesday, February 24 at 8:00pm in the Chapel

All church members are invited and encouraged to attend.

More than 250,000 souls were swept into eternity on December 26, 2004 by a
tsunami, hitting eight Asian nations and the African coast. The tragedy deeply
impacted the world. Various media representatives asked, Where was God in
all of this? The implication was that an all-powerful, all-loving God would not
allow such a disaster. But we must ask not where God was, but where were
we? Have we done everything we can to reach those who have not heard the
gospel? Thankfully, Southern Baptist missionaries and others were immediately
on the field and involved. Yet that many people die each week in south Asia
alone, that many die from AIDS monthly in sub-Saharan Africa.
