LLOYDS BUILDING

London

Elements :
As we can see, the TEXTURE of the structure is smooth because of using stainless steel as one
of the materials of it. Aside from this, the VALUE is also present in the structure because of different
use of color by means of light and darkness in every part of it. And I always notice that the SHAPE of
the structure is composing more of cylindrical shapes such as its towers. Repeating LINES are present
in the core of the structures design.

Principle :
The BALANCE of the structure is asymmetrical because of different heights of towers in each
side then the repetition of its cylindrical shapes in every tower and lines in the structures core shows
the HARMONY of its design. The UNITY of the design is shown by the color of the structure which is
they use only one color in every part of it.

Elements :
The SHAPE of every roof is curve which it appears more natural and
organizes to each other. The curve LINE of the structure just describes what an
opera house really is, where you have freedom to express feeling. While the
white COLOR of the structure seems like performance occurs inside is always
pure and exciting just like the symbol of white color.

Principle :
If we look at the front view of the Sydney Opera House we can
determine that the type of balance of the structure is symmetrical because of
similarity in the design and size of the two structures (left and right) present in
the opera. And we can barely notice that the structure has a curved (sense of
freedom) and diagonal (activity) MOVEMENT especially at the roof part. These
movements describe the function of the structure, to express feelings by
performing and acting.

Principle :
UNITY is achieved in the structure through the use of same blue color
in the structure. VARIETY is there by the use of both vertical and horizontal
lines and its uniformity through colors.
Elements :
The Shards main function describes by its SHAPE where the structure

diagonal LINES
tells that there so many activities happen inside. Then the
vertical lines in the design tell us the strength and stability.

Principle :
The BALANCE is symmetrical because of the equality of both towers
size and design. HARMONY can be seen in the repetition of vertical design in
each tower. Then we can determine its VARIETY by the use of different designs
in the upper and lower part of the structure.
Elements : TOWERS

In my observation, the SHAPE of the structure resembles a combination
of two ballpens. Also its using only one COLOR in the overall structure design.

PHILIPPINE ARENA
Ciudad de Victoria, Santa Maria, Bulacan, Philippines

Elements :
The overall SHAPE of the structure in front view is similar to a Nipa Hut
but if we look it at the top view of the structure, it can easily identify the oval
shape of it. The diagonal LINE design under the roof of the structure describes
the sense of movement complement to the function of it as multipurpose
indoor arena.
Principle :
The PERSPECTIVE can be described to the structure scale. The overall
size of it is so huge that means the structure is built to sustain a larger number
of persons inside. The VARIETY is determined by the presence of single color
use in majority parts of the structure such as white color and its harmony in the
arenas design. The HARMONY can be notice in the rhythmic diagonal
arrangement of the bars under the arenas roof and the vertical arrangement of
the red bars at its lower part.
