Instructional Screencast Task Analysis for Setting Up a

Class DoJo Account


1. Pull up your web browser and type the web address
(https://www.classdojo.com) into the address bar.

2. Click on the blue sign up button to create an account.


3. Click on the teacher button.
4. Complete each field, and click the gray sign up button.
5. Either scroll through the list of local schools, choose your school and
click the join school button, or click the skip joining school button.
6. Click on the add a class button.
7. Choose your desired icon by clicking on the icon.
8. Complete the fields, and then click the gray add a class button.
9. Enter each students name in its own field, and press the enter button
on your keypad after adding each student.

Click the done adding students button.

Click the next button.

Again, click the next button.

Click done with invites button.

While the positive tab is highlighted blue, click the add
behavior button to add another behavior if desired, then click the icon
to see and select other icons. Type in a positive behavior in the name
field, and assign it a point value in the point weight field. Click the
save button.

Hover over existing icons, click the blue pencil icon to delete the
behavior or to change the information fields or icon. Click the delete
button to delete the behavior or click the save button to save any
editions you made.

While the needs work tab is highlighted blue, follow steps 14
and 15 respectively.

When finished, click the finish button.

Click the settings dropdown menu, and then click connect
parents.
19.
Type in the students parent/guardians email address or phone
number, then click the invite button.

Add a customized message or use the one that is provided, click
the send invite button, then click done.

Click the students name.

To give an earned point for exhibiting a positive behavior, make
sure the positive tab is highlighted blue, and click on the appropriate
icon.

To deduct a point for exhibiting an undesired behavior, make sure
the needs work tab is highlighted blue, and click on the appropriate
icon.

unruly class that you
needed to tamed? Have
you ever wished that
there was a behavior
management system
that you could use that
would be mobile and
appealing to your
students? Well Class
DoJo has you covered.
Im going to show you
in under 5 minutes how
to set up a Class DoJo
account and get started
implementing it in your
class.
The first step is to open
your web browser and
type the web address
(https://www.classdojo.
com) into the address
bar.
Next, you click on the
blue sign up button
to create an account.
Next, you click on
the teacher
button.
Next, you complete
each field and then

click the gray sign


up button.

At this point, you have


an option to join your
school so that you can
share your class with
other teachers at your
school, such as the art
& p.e. teachers. This
will give them the same
capabilities that you
will have while your
class is in their care. If
your school is not
listed, just click on the
skip joining school
button.
In order to add a class,
click on the add a
class button. You may
add as many classes as
needed, which is great
for teachers who do not
have the same class all
day.
Next, you type in each
students name one at
a time, pressing the
enter button on the
keyboard after each
entry.
After you have entered
in all of your students
names, click the done
adding students
button.
Then, you click the
next button.
Then, you click it again.

open another window
on your computer that
creates an
informational form that
parents can use to link
to their childs account.
This will enable them to
view the points in realtime.
Now were going to add
a behavior that you
would like to see more
of in your class. Click
on the add behavior
button. Im going to
select the test tube
icon, and type in
follows directions. You
can create any positive
behavior that you want
and choose the icon of
your choice. Next, Im
going to assign that
behavior a point value
of 1 and click the
save button.
There are some pre-set
behaviors that you may
or may not want to
keep. To modify or
delete a pre-existing
behavior or icon, simply
hover over the icon
until you see the blue
pencil icon. To delete
the behavior, click the
delete button. To
modify a behavior or
icon, click on the icon
to choose another one.
Type in the behavior
you desire, then click
the save button to

behavior.
Next, we click the
finish button.
Now we are going to
send a parent
invitation. If a parent
follows the link that is
sent to them through
this invitation, it will
take less steps than
signing up via the
informational form.
Now click the settings
button on the
dropdown menu, and
then click on connect
parents.
You have the option of
entering in one or more
parents email
addresses or phone
numbers.
After you have done
that, verify that the
information is correct,
click the send invite
button, and then click
the done button.
Now that we have
everything set up,
were going to give it a
test drive. Start by
clicking on the
students name.

Next, click on the

You will notice that the
behavior and students
name will pop up
toward the bottom of
the screen
accompanied by a
sound. This confirms
that the point has been
awarded.
Now lets test out the
point deduction
feature. Click on the
students name.
Next, click on the
needs work tab.
Click on the does not
follow directions icon
to deduct points. You
will notice that the
behavior and students
name will pop up
toward the bottom of
the screen
accompanied by a
sound. This confirms
that the point has been
deducted.
Now that you know how
to set up and use your
class DoJo account, you
will want to make it
mobile. If you have an
iPhone, go to the App
Store and download the
app. You then log in
using the same login
information that you
created in the webbased account. If you
have an Android, you
will need to download
the app from Google
Play and log in using

the same login


information. This will
give you the
accessibility to give or
take away points while
walking in the hallway
or performing other
transitional activities.
