1. COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL IEC 8705103.

The regulator is equipped with connectors enabling communication both in CCBUS and IEC
8705103 standard protocols.
The option TRANSFER enables selection of transfer speed both for CC-BUS and EC 8705
103 protocols. Also change of an identifier/address of the device is possible.
Selection can be done by pressing (N) key and arrow keys (up/down).
Selection is confirmed by pressing (S) key.
Ability of setting selection for communication protocol can be protected with the password.

2. CHARACTERISTIC OF PROTOCOL IMPLEMENTATION.

Physical layer.
Communication interface RS 232C, RS 485 or C&C current loop is used, there is a possibility
to select transmission speed (from 300 up to 57600 bit/s), a character is composed of 1 start
bit, 8 data bits, 1 even parity control bit and 1 stop bit.
RS 485 interface can operate in 2-wire and 4-wire systems.
RS 485 interface attends only to IEC 8705103 protocol.
Link layer.
Special character <0x5e> is not used, negative acknowledgements are in form of short frames
(frames without data).
Application layer.
Following function has been implemented (according to IEC 8705103 standard
description):
transmission of cyclic data
transmission of spontaneous data
transmission of commands
time synchronisation
Generic service is not implemented, compatibility level pertains in scope of a/m functions.
Field FUNCTION TYPE - FUN in each ASDU unit is FUN = 131.
Cyclic data.
Cyclic data are available by examining the device with link function number 11 (PRM bit=1)
in ASDU 9 form.

Communication protocol IEC 8705103

Spontaneous data.
Spontaneous data are available by setting the ACD bit by the regulator in Control field of
the protocol frame, during examining the device (cyclic data reading) with link function
number 10 (PRM bit=1).
Spontaneous data are buffered, however these data can be overwritten, resulting in
information loss. That's why it is important to examine frequently the device concerning the
spontaneous data.
Transmission of commands.
Transmission of commands is available by sending ASDU20, ASDU 41, ASDU 42 units to
the device.
Time synchronisation.
Time synchronisation is available by sending ASDU 6 unit to the device. Global or local
addressing is possible. Synchronisation frame may be confirmed in case of sending it with a
code of link function number 3 (send-confirm).

Measurement range (maximal value gave out by the device) for each of above mentioned
quantities is equal the value given above multiplied by coefficient 1.2.
Measurement range is used to calculate values indicated by the device.
Because quantities are transmitted by protocol 103 as a numbers in form of proper fractions,
e.g. numbers in range (-1, 1), indicated value can be obtained in following way:
Indicated value=transmitted value*measurement range
