prepare for a Full load


1.Make Backup of repository from test..................................................................1

1.Make Backup of repository from test.


a. Login to http://oraclebit:6008/ on the server.
Administrator/administrator
b. Click the repository Oracle_BI_DW_Base

c.

e. Open Actions in top right corner and choose Repository Contents>
Back up..
f.
i. Username/pw: Administrator/Administrator
ii. Filename: Oracle_BI_DW_Base_xx
iii. Check the boxes Skip x 3.
g. Copy backupfile from
C:\Informatica_Server\server\infa_shared\Backup to C:\Analytics
Migration Folder\To Prod

2.Copy Seq number from current repository to avoid


problems with row_wids.
h. These reside in these mapplets: (Copy the Current Value in the
Sequence Generator).

3.Replace current repository in PROD with backup


created from TEST.
t. Login to http://oraclebip:6008/ on the server.
Administrator/administrator
u. Click the repository Oracle_BI_DW_Base
v.

w. Edit > Operating Mode from Normal to Exclusive in Repository


Properties.
i. Wait for Service to recycle.
x. Open Actions in top right corner and choose Repository
Contents>Delete.

z. Copy file from Analytics Migration Folder to
aa.Open Actions and choose Repository Contents>Restore
i. Choose the file from Backup folder
ii. Restore as new > Uncheck
iii. Skip x 3> Check
ab.Change operating mode to Normal

4.Change database-connections and assign workflows


to Integration Service in Workflow Manager
ac. Open repository by double-click the Oracle_BI_DW_Base
ad.Choose Connections>Relational and Change Service:
i. ACCBALS > ACCBALP
ii. SIEBELT2>SIEBELP2
iii. ANALYTT2>ANALYTP2
ae.Choose Service>Assign Integration Service
i. Choose Integration Service
1. Inf_int_service (test)
2. Inf_int_service_prod (prod
ii. Show All folders
iii. Check the Select All displayed workflows > Assign
af. Open Informatica Designer>Mapplets
i. Set current values in the sequence generators in the
mapplets as mentioned in chapter 2.

5.Export DAC repository


ag.Login to DAC Client on oraclebit
ah.Go to Tools>DAC Repository Management>Export
i. Change folder to C:\Analytics Migration Folder\To Prod\XX

iii. Press OK and wait for it to import.

6.Change DAC-settings to PROD-values

7.Update DW-db schema and update AP Load


al. Go to Design> Tables and query updated/new tables
i. Right click and choose: Generate DW Table Scripts

Go to Design>Subject Areas
i. Query Owner = AP*
ii. Click Assemble > Choose All records in the list
an.Go to Execute>Execution Plans >AP Load
i. Click Build
ii. Leave checkboxes unchecked x 2
ao. Go to Tools>ETL management>Reset data sources
ap.Start AP Load > Good luck

8.Migrate and deploy new rpd


aq.Copy new rpd from oraclebit to C:\Analytics Migration Folder\To
Prod\XX on oraclebit
ar. Copy new rpd from //oraclebit\ Analytics Migration Folder\To Prod\XX
to
C:\OBIEE_MW\instances\instance1\bifoundation\OracleBIServerCom
ponent\coreapplication_obis1\repository on oraclebip
as. Open new rpd with Administration Tool
i. Rpd-pw: Admin123
ii. If promted:
1. Username:weblogic
2. Password: weblogic_01

at. Change Variables:


i. Open Manage>Variables>Repository>Variables>Static
1. OLAP_DSN: ANALYTT2(test) to ANALYTP2(prod)
2. ORA_EBS_OLTP_DSN: SIEBELT2(test) to SIEBELP2(prod)
3. OLTP_DSN: SIEBELT2(test) to SIEBELP2(prod)
4. ACCBAL_DSN: ACCBALS(test) to ACCBALP(prod)
ii. Open Manage>Variables>Session>System
1. LOGLEVEL: 7(test) to 0(prod)
a. Be aware of no logfiles being created. Can be a
good idea to keep at 7 in prod for debug, and
change to 0 and restart services after stabile
production.

ii. Choose Business Intelligence> Core Application

Click Lock and edit configuration
Click Choose file and choose new rpd to deploy
Password: Admin123 x 2
Click Apply(important)
Check if new rpd name is chosen.

8. Go to Availability>Processes
9. Start all(if services are down during load)
10.Try to login after when Restart all completes.
