Gayatri Energy Ventures Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Gayatri Projects Ltd, along with its JV
partnerSembcorpIndustries,islaunchingits2,640MWSembcorpGayatriPowerComplexinaninaugural
ceremonytomorrow27thFebruary,2016,aspertheadvertisementattached.
Built,atatotalprojectcostofUS$3billion(RS20,000crore),thepowercomplexisthelargestforeigndirect
investmentdrivenprojectonasinglesiteinthethermalenergysectorinIndiatodate.Thecomplexhouses
two 1,320megawatt supercritical coalfired power plants Thermal Powertech Corporation India (TPCIL),
first power plant successfully completed and commenced full commercial operation in September 2015,
whileNCCPowerProjects,secondplantisexpectedtobefullyoperationalin2016.
TPCIL has secured more than 85 percent of its net total generating capacity under longterm power
purchase agreements 570 MW agreement with Telangana Power Distribution Companies and 500 MW
agreementwithAndhraPradesh&TelanganaPowerDistributionCompanies.Thepowercomplexleverages
technology and innovation from start toend. A covered conveyor system transports coal seamlessly from
coasttopowercomplex,minimisingcarbonfootprintandairpollution.Supercriticaltechnologyisalsoused,
enablinghigherefficiencyandloweremissionscomparedtoconventionalcoalfiredpowerplants.
