STORY
The story is about Harland Sanders. He was born in the USA in 1980. He had a sad
childhood because his father died when he was six. He learned to cook when he looked
after his brother and sister. When he was twelve, he left home and found jobs. He became
a service station manager in Corbin, Kentucky in 1930 after having a lot of different jobs.
Over the next nine years he developed the secret chicken recipe that made him famous.
The first KFC restaurant opened in August 1952. In 1964 he sold the company for $2
million but he continued to work here and visited restaurants all over the world. Until he
died in 1980, he travelled 250,000 miles a year. Now KFC restaurants are in more than 80
countries and the recipe is still secret!
