Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm

The Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm is way of learning and a method of
teaching that is taken and based from the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of
Loyola. The Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm is practical framework of
teaching which is consistent and effectively communicating the Ignatian
values and world view.
The Ignatian pedagogy is a framework that promotes the goal of
creating and developing men and women of competence, conscience, and
compassion. The infusion of the pedagogical paradigm in the curriculum as
a framework aims to create or prepare learners to become leaders who will
help improve and transform the society. It wants to create learners who are
from consumers of knowledge to producers of knowledge in service to
others. It seeks to foster learners with life-long learning's and actions in
service to others.
The Ignatian pedagogical paradigm is comprise of the elements of
Context, Experience, Reflection, Action, and Evaluation. Through the
consideration of the factors such as the context of the students' lives, the
administration creates an environment where students recollect their past
experience and assimilate information from newly provided experiences.
Then help the students to learn the skills and techniques of reflection which
shapes their consciousness. Challenge then the students to do some action
in service to others. The evaluation process then includes academic mastery
as well as ongoing assessments of students' well-rounded growth as
persons for others.
