HEALTH PROMOTION, EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Enterprises represent an a big portion the development of any country. Workers
are a fundamental part of them and keep safe and healthy is responsability of the
companies, for that its necesary take measures to improve ocupational safety and
healt (OHS), thats meausres including certain facts like health promotion,
education and training.
PROMOTION OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
Represent a investment at the enterprises from workplaces, its function is
preventing ill healt at work, and enhancing the potential and well-being of the
workers.
This investment can be regarded like actions of prevention and the same way can
be recognized of differents forms, one of them are the awards. some countries
organize annual awards to recognition the good safety records and to encourage
others to emulate them, other actvities to stimulate the promotion of the OHS are
the fairs and festivals where it is exposed health promotion tems, training
manuals, equipment, safety devices Etc.
Good lifestyles are a key factor in health, therefore its a fundamental part in the
OSH activities, so diet, exercise and no habits to smoke and drink are part of them,
being all those factors measures of prevention aimed at increasing interest of
them, through of many activities like information, health campaings and safety
promotion activities.
OHS it includes education to foster a good attitude in front of work risks, is aimed
for both workers and management and designed to combine knowledge and skills
to recognize and contribute to labor risk, accidents or diseases. Also training is part
of ocupational education, therefore its function is strengthen skills. Being a
narrower concept than education. As both are important factors to get a successful
exercise of OHS and the training is more narrow, it is important do a awareness to
training, paying atention to the qualifications and motivations of the person.
TRAINING METHODS AND MATERIALS
Training methods are measures that the Enterprise will take to workers, it function
is to train workpeople to how avoid posibles risk in their workplaces reinforce by
preventive rules.
The training should be intensive in some places where the risk is potentially high,
such cases , usually seen in developing countries these nations in particular have
exceptional needs and must adapt to unusual methods with the help of area
research thus they can be applied , both preventive and operational actions . Any
new techniques must be evaluated, it works should continue to be applied and fed
back.

INTERNATIONAL CHEMICAL HAZARD COMMUNICATION TOOLS

some companies handle hazardous chemicals, For this there are unique strategies
for treating these products, research can be concluded that by regulations for the
use of these: identification and risk characterization ; exposure assessment ; risk
characterization ; and implementing risk management measures are the are the
characteristics that are studied for the creation of rules on the subject.
The Globally Harmonized System for the Classification and Labelling of Chemicals
(GHS).
born as monitoring the Adoption of chemicals products law, It was carried out by
three institutions in partnership: the OECD, the United Nations Committee of
Experts on the Transport of Dangerous
Goods (CETDG) and the ILO.
has been designed to cover all chemicals, while the requirements of the chemical
hazards in the workplace was provided, As such it is a truly harmonized and
universal technical standard
that is already starting to have a far-reaching impact on all national and
international standards, both regulatory and technical
THE INTERNATIONAL CHEMICAL CONTROL TOOLKIT
increasing use of chemicals in enterprises has led to the development of a new
approach to the control of chemicals, Which it focuses on the health of workers.
This new approach opens the way for the implementation of four new control
estrastegias :
employ good industrial hygiene practice;
use local exhaust ventilation;
enclose the process;
seek the advice of a specialist.
These controls define the risk group , the number and training should have the
team for this . Much of the recent work on control banding derives from work
carried out by the UK Health and Safety Executive with the sole purpose of which
we are aware and begin to take action to protect our health against potential risks.
